The Goose Pub is located in Bellevue, away from the downtown area, and across the street from a Crab Pot restaurant. It is in a strip mall. It is very smokey and there are pool tables. They have a big screen tv because it's a psuedo sports bar I guess. I was there on a Monday night and there was hardly anyone in there. I'm not sure if it is different on other days. The crowd was nondescript. It was pretty affordable - our table went through 2 pitchers of hefeweisen, a chili dog, nachos, a coke, and two orders of mozzarella sticks and the bill was like $48. The service was ok. The women's bathroom was kind of nasty.

I have always had very positive experiences at Bumper Cars. It’s never easy to buy a car, especially when you are looking for an inexpensive used one, but at this place you don’t have to feel like you are being deceived or duped. The last car I bought here was a Chevy Corsica, ’93 or so, for about $2500. It served it’s purpose and I will definitely buy a car from Bumper Cars again. The owner is genuine and has integrity. I would highly recommend Bumper Cars.

Brown Bear Car Wash is conveniently located on Leary Way in Ballard/Fremont and it’s usually pretty busy. It doesn’t seem to be any more or less expensive than any other self service car wash place. It’s the usual process – you put the quarters in and you get to control what you get out of the hose – prewash, soap, wax-like stuff, etc. They also have the big industrial vacuum cleaners there as well, so you can get your car spic and span inside and out.

WSBS is a really local radio station, which can be good if that is what you are looking for. If you get too far out of the Berkshire area, or if the sun goes down, you might not be able to pick the station up. Don’t tune in for the music, but do tune in for the information. The main reason for listening is to find out about local news and events. You can find out everything from who lost their pet cat recently to what schools are closed due to snow with their Storm Center. Overall, it’s a useful station.

The Dartmouth Club of Western Washington is a non-profit club associated with the College that serves to keep Dartmouth Alumni in Western Washington in touch with one another as well as with the College. We have regularly scheduled events where people can get together to meet, socialize, network, and have fun. These events include everything from forming a team to run in the Annual Seattle Jingle Bell Run to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation, to meeting up for a day at the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, to taking some time out during the week to meet up for a monthly Pub Night. Dartmouth also occasionally sponsors events in conjunction with the Club, such as having President Wright come to speak in Seattle in January. Fremont News is a great place to get a newspaper or a magazine. They don’t get annoyed if you stay for a bit to flip through magazines you aren’t going to buy, which is nice if you are waiting for a bus and it’s raining. They have a huge selection at regular prices. If you need to get the news, this is the place to go in Fremont, particularly if you want to get it from something other than the PI/Seattle Times, which are essentially the same thing.

Railey’s Leash and Treat sells high quality pet toys and treats as well as other pet accessories like water and food bowls, leashes, etc. It is a great place to buy birthday and holiday presents for your favorite cat or dog. They sell a lot of organic items too, and they have a case like you would find at a deli full of homemade organic pet treats. They also have water outside for your pet. The guys who work there are very fun and friendly and offer helpful tips and ideas. It is a small place, but you can always find something fun to buy. The only downside is that it is really pretty expensive, as most of the shops in Fremont are.

I got one of the worst and most overpriced hair cuts of my life here. It cost my $46 plus tip for a hair cut that I could have got at Super Cuts at the mall. I'm not sure what happened. The reason I went in the first place is because of all the good reviews on this site. Maybe I got a stylist having a bad day or something. The atmosphere was pretty cool, but the receptionist was not friendly or helpful either, which really put me off. Overall I will never go back there - not even for the free 3-week trim!

Sound Mind and Body (in Fremont) is well laid out and has all the equipment you would expect to find in a good gym. It isn't cheap but they have different membership options, such as a punch card if you aren't sure how often you are going to use it. One floor is full of treadmills and exercise bikes and that type of thing, another floor has the free weights and nautilus machines, and then they have the mat room and aerobics studio. They also offer classes of different types, like yoga, aerobics, etc., and they have a big basketball court.

Berkshire West has all the facilities that you would expect a good health club to have. Their building is well organized and nicely laid out. You can swim, use free weights, or work out with the nautilus equipement. You can also play tennis here all year-round and they offer lessons as well. Overall, this is one of the bigger gyms in the area.
