The Landmark Seven Gables Theatre is sort of in an old house transformed into a small theater. It's located kind of by Trader Joe's in the U-district. It conveniently has a small parking lot adjacent to it, which is useful since parking can be tough in that area. It's cozy and comfy but still has all the things a larger theater would have. We recently saw Brokeback Mountain there and it was perfect. I would definitely go back. The tickets were $9 each though, which is a lot, but it typical of movie theaters these days.

I've had appointments here twice, the first time with Dr. Slack and the second time with Maggie who is a nurse practioner. Both Dr. Slack and Maggie were fantastic and I would definitely recommend either of them. Both were easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. Maggie is young and really friendly so when I go back again I'll definitely make my appointment with her if I can. She was great and very knowledgable. Highly recommended.

I really did NOT want to go kayaking at all on the day that my sister and boyfriend dragged me to Agua Verde for kayaking and dinner. It turned out to be one of the most fun things I've done in Seattle! I've never been kayaking before, but the employees at Agua Verde were really nice and friendly and informative and helpful. It was great! We kayaked around Lake Union and it really wasn't that hard. It was beautiful and really fun! Then we went back and had the best halibut tacos I've ever had at the Cafe. The whole experience was great and I've been back to the Cafe several times since for yummy mexican food and drinks.
By the way, you rent the kayaks by the hour, I believe, and they have special memberships or a club or something you can participate in if you kayak a lot. It wasn't the cheapest thing we could have done that day, but it was so worth it! The next time anyone visits me in Seattle I'm definitely taking them there for kayaking and food!

Claim Jumper is very chain-y (it is a chain after all, I guess). They serve ridiculously large portions for lunch and dinner and almost everything on their menu is very fatty, greasy, and unhealthy - even the salads! Every time I eat here I feel sick afterwards from all the grease. The food is also pretty mediocre and only tastes remotely good because of all the fat in it.
The bar area is good for meeting up with a group though, and has lots of tv's for game watching, and booths for smaller parties.

This is your best option for a decent meal in Redmond Town Center. This conclusion was arrived at after working in RTC for a year and eating many many lunches there. The service is quick during lunch time and the food is good. I really like the fried rice. The ambience is pleasant as well, although it does get really crowded at lunch.

The sandwich options in Redmond Town Center are terrible. Piccolino's is way overpriced and consistently serves stale bread while Redmond Subs is not even as good as a Subway (which is bad). What makes me hate Piccolino's is that there is hardly any selection of vegetarian options at all (including in the soups) and the one "cheese" sandwich they do offer is gross, the bread is almost always stale (which is just plain unacceptable), and you're going to spend at least $10 on a lunch that should cost 5 or less. The only positive thing I can think to say about Piccolino's is that the employees have always been very pleasant, prompt, and friendly.

Nothing strikes me as really extraordinary about Romio's in Eastlake, but the reason we go there is to get delicious calzones and a few pitchers of Mac and Jacks. The calzones are really good. The crust is nice and not too thick but tasty and they have a lot of different ones to choose from or make your own. The calzones are about $10 each. The pizza seems kind of expensive too, but I guess good pizza is expensive. Everything else about Romio's is pretty regular. Oh and the garlic bread is NOT good - it seems like it was frozen or something - although I haven't tried the cheese garlic bread.

I just got my hair cut by Courtney who is a "new talent" at Habitude Fremont. She's been there for about 9 months now though and she has had plenty of experience leading up to that. I got a great (short, layered) cut with plenty of attention to detail and still got all the perks of getting a cut at a fancy place like Habitude (Aveda products, scalp massage, etc.) for a great price! The cut was only $27! Not bad! I'm definitely going back. Unfortunately, I don't want to get too attached, because I'm sure her price will soon go up as she progresses up the ranks.

I know the executive director for Open Adoption. Both of her children were adopted through the agency and they had a wonderful experience with open adoption. If you are seriously thinking about adopting, you should look into open adoptions to see what your options are. It is an interesting path.
As their website says, Open Adoption is a private, non-profit adoption agency with a progressive approach to building healthy families. Their agency focuses on facilitating child-centered open adoptions in which birthparents and adoptive families create healthy long-term relationships that address the ongoing needs of children.
Their website is http://www.openadopt.org/index.html
