It's one of my favourite summer pass-times to sit in the outdoor area with a friend sipping iced-tea and eating crab and bourbon chowder with a big spinach salad. I also really like the hot crab sandwich.
I've always loved the story about how Duke's offered the cast of "Frasier" a free lunch. I don't know if it was true, or if any of the cast ever took them up on it!

For those who haven't eaten Ethiopian food before, it tends to be quite spicy, and is somewhat similar to Indian. You eat by scooping up each bite with a piece of spongy injera bread.
Delicious!

The food's great: distinctive flavours that compliment each other and good presentation.
The staff are fun and attentive without being at all pushy.
The atmosphere is fun and lively, but not good for quiet conversation.
All-in-all, a great dining experience.

I first went to the World Spice Merchant looking for ingredients for a medieval recipe I was trying to make. They have *everything*! I especially like their pre-blended spices. Some of my favourites are the Mayan cocoa with chili powder, the Japanese rice seasonings, and the Pacific seafood rub. Spice really *does* bring variety to life!

The first time I came in, the doctor observed that my vision probably got way worse at night and / or if I was tired. True. I was impressed!
The glasses are a bit expensive, but they have a good selection and accept most insurance coverage. The staff in the optical shop is great- they even cleaned my glasses for me when I stopped in to have them adjusted.

Somewhat smaller than either PCC or Whole Foods, but still very good! They've got all my favourite healthy alternatives (Annie's, Blue Sky, Burt's Bees, etc.) and very nice produce. The deli also offers a good variety of tasty sandwiches and salads. If you're looking for something they don't carry, they do take requests. It's also nice to be supporting a local business, rather than the usual big chains! If you're interested in becoming a Co-Op Member, ask them about the installment plan. I'm paying $5 at a time instead of plunking down the whole cost at once, which has been a big help!

I'd give the Edmonds Bookshop a four-star rating, but the shop is somewhat small so the selection is a little limited. This is off-set, though, by their willingness to order anything you need, and orders usually come in quite quickly (within about a week or so).

The designs are pretty and simple, and the pottery is sturdy and well-made.
I even phoned in the middle of the Christmas rush, and got friendly and prompt help with my order.

I haven't found any of the specific discs that I've been looking for, but I have picked up some new finds very cheaply.
I haven't had a chance to browse the vinyl section, but I have a feeling a patient collector could really find some gems!
