I came home from school to find a new pizza entering my home come friday night. It smelled delicious, looked delicious and my mom assured me it was delicious. But I can't just welcome a new pizza into my life without a little suspicion. I've been hurt too many times to open myself up just like that. It's sad, but it's true. I gazed warily at the crispy crust and the bubbling cheese over the thin dough. It was greasy in all the right places. Slowly, tentatively, as if for the first time, I lifted a long slice from the box and brought it to my mouth. My mom was smiling and I knew that my face was following suit. The pizza WAS delicious. In the months that followed, Little City Pizza found its place alongside City Pizza (unrelated), and Luna Pizza as a welcome house guest. Perhaps that's a bad analogy in that it means we eat our houseguests...but either way, it's a fantastic place for pizza, and it's if house guests taste like it does..well, let's just hope I don't get a late night craving.

Sarah Jeannes has many services including a salon, tanning, and other things only utilized by girls and heretofore uncomprehensible to me. I found myself at Sarah Jeannes, however, one fateful day to get my eyebrow pierced and i'm very glad I did. While I was a bit self-conscious about my maleness in the overwhelmingly female dominated store (business name included) I had heard great things about the place and their piercing capacity. As I lay in the chair awaiting the needle, I was serenaded with tales of people with botched piercings coming to Sarah Jeannes to get them fixed for free. I was somehow calmed and when I finally did get pierced, it went smoothly and easily-- and i'm petrified of needles. For only around thirty bucks, I got my eyebrow expertly pierced and got a ring for it. Plus, I was confident in the fact that if I took care of it on my end, there would no infections or other problems. Two years later, I'm still going strong with the piercing but no infections and have never been happier for entering a stigmatized establishment and giving them my money. I may not have a rock star story behind where I got my eyebrow pierced, but I also don't have any rock star infections.

The Thai Dish is probably the best known Thai restaurant in the L-A area and for good reason. Large portions, low prices, and amazing food will have that effect on a place. A nice atmosphere in the store and great for take-out the thai dish reminds people that there are reasons to venture out to eat. The phat thai is some of the best i've had, and the chicken satay is one of my personal favorites. In addition, the Thai Dish caters and can provide large portions of great food for decent prices for any occasion. Definitely worth a visit.

Two words: Garlic Knots. Tell those two words to anyone who has ever eaten at DaVinci's in Lewiston and you will be met with a barrage of enthusiasm regarding the delectable appetizers. The best part about the knots...well, is the taste. The second best part about the knots...that's the taste too. But the third best part about the garlic knots at DaVinci's are the price: absolutely free. Because instead of getting free bread when you sit down, you get a basket of warm, woven, garlic and oil dripped knots...and they'll keep giving you more. In addition, the entrees are very large portions and are all very tasty, from the pasta to the meats and even the large salads. The atmosphere at DaVinci's is friendly and nice, but not pretentious or overdressed. It's a place you can go in a sweater and jeans in December and when the cold sets in for winter, eating at DaVinci's can be quite reminiscent of that special night out near the holidays, regardless of whether your there to celebrate or simply to not eat another Papa John's pizza at home. DaVinci's is the gem of Lewiston and both locals and college students alike cherish it.

The Black Watch is the upscale DaVinci's of Lewiston-Auburn. Serving classy cuisine ranging from steak to crab stuffed sole, the watch is expensive but delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale, and the every-changing menu is worth coming back for. While a dish might run you anywhere from 12-25 dollars, if you can spare the cash, the memory of the food will stay with you for weeks to come. Great for birthdays and anniversaries, the Black Watch is the upscale restaurant that Lewiston and Auburn have gone to for years.

Pat's Pizza in Auburn is one of the best restaurants around for my money (which is actually the same kind of money you have!). A favorite of both locals and college students alike, Pat's delivers great food at great prices, and gives an atmosphere enjoyed by all. Pat's offers subs, pastas, salads, and pizza, along with many other items on their eclectic menu, and all of it is good. My personal favorite is the Meatball sub with cheese and then half of a small cheese pizza on the side, a meal which comes to roughly 8 bucks with tip-- not bad. In addition, their beer selection is good and you can always catch the game on the television at the bar. During the spring and summer, the patio deck opens and allows for a great view of the Androscoggin. Definitely check out Pat's year round for a cheap, delicious, enjoyable time.

These bagels are delicious. With the normal variety plus daily specials and favorites such as their cheddar bagel and cinnamon and sugar bagel, Brookside provides the bagel addict with exactly what they need. They also make breakfast sandwhiches and deli bagel-whiches making it a perfect destination for a lunch break. There are a few tables to sit at in the store and the staff is friendly and conversational. The best part about Brookside, however, is the cream cheese. While it most likely shortens your life span by at least six months per bagel, their homemade cream cheese is incredibly good, tasting faintly of vanilla and being thick and creamy at the same time. They pile it on the bagels too, and i've been known to order a bagel just to lick the cream cheese delectably when no one is looking. While that sounds just plain fat of me, you'll understand once you checkout Brookside Bagels and realize how good a bagel can be.

If you need any kind of alcoholic drink and you're in the area, M&R Liquor Store has it. With a great selection of wines, beer, cider, and hard alcohol, you will only need to make one stop. The staff is knowledgable and friendly, making a visit not only quick and easy, but also interesting and educational. The prices are range from cheap to uber-expensive and the selection is huge, making M&R the place to go for the casual browser or the liquor aficianado.

People's Choice is the number one late night greasy food delivery restaurant in the Farmington Valley. This might have something to do with the fact that they are one of the few places which stay open AND deliver until 1 AM on weekends. Don't expect health food, because that's not what the people want. The people choose pizza, calzones, amazing (and cheap) subs, and plenty of other favorites such as mozzarella sticks, huge salads (somehow I still doubt they're healthy), and cheeseburgers. The delivery is quick and i've never had an order messed up. All of the food is at its greasy best and if that's what your craving, People's Choice is the place to get it.

Main Moon is one of, if not the best chinese take-out restaurant in the farmington valley. All of the food is delicious, the portions are large and the prices are in the middle range (what you'd expect). The food is made quickly and it's located in downtown simsbury, so it's just a quick drive from anywhere in the vicinity. I recommend the Crispy Chicken, any of the Lo-Mein, and especially the fried rice, which is the best fried rice i've had in all of the Northeast. Main Moon is Chinese take-out at its finest.
