Agave has the city's best southwestern cuisine. Located at the entrance to the old mill town of Cabbagetown, Agave is packed on the weekends with locals and from all over the intown area. Chips and salsa are wisked to the table and are usually hot, fresh and crispy with a nice tangy salsa. The margarita list is plentiful and the drinks themselves are huge. Don't miss the cayenne fried chicken on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and corn on the cob.

Watching a film at the historic Garden Hills Cinema in Buckhead is like stepping back into the golden age of theaters. Unlike today's megaplexes, Garden Hills has one big screen, and a velvet curtain opens before each movie. The seats are old, too, but somehow it adds to the ambience. Garden Hills specializes in foreign and indie films. The popcorn is also some of the best in town.

Bobby and June's Kountry Kitchen is a landmark in the city, serving up barbecue and southern comfort food for years. Open for lunch and breakfast, the line snakes out the door for the tasty "meat and three" served up by waitresses who call you "hon" and keep your tall glass of sweet iced tea constantly filled. Friday is "roast beef" day, with the meat slightly smoked and covered in a gravy. The cornbread and biscuits are heavenly.

Ansley Park Playhouse is the home of "Peachtree Battle," the hilarious comedy that has become Atlanta's longest running theatre production. It celebrates it's four-year anniversary in September 2005 and shows are STILL sold out. The comedy tells the story of the battling Habershams family, led by a matriarch dealing with her gay son, alcoholic mother, and her straight son who's engaged to a Hooter's Girl. Writers John Gibson and Anthony Morris keep the script fresh by throwing in lines about current events and a host of local celebrities have had walk-on parts, including WSB-TVe anchor Monica Kauffman, who's ever-changing hair styles have long been a running joke in the show. Gibson and Morris will soon premiere a new show, "Sunday Afternoon At Loehmanns" and "Peachtree Battle 2" is in the works.
