For years we have walked past the Main Street Bake shop without going in. In May, my daughter insisted we had to go in and try the ice cream sandwich and the bread pudding. Oh my! We had really been missing a treat! The ice cream sandwich is made with two fresh Toll House cookies and is the size of a small plate. It is certainly big enough to share. My husband loved his warm banana bread pudding. I doubt that we will be walking past the Main Street Bake shop without stopping for a treat again. Prices are not unreasonable for the size and quality of the items.

Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Hotel in Walt Disney World has always been a favorite for our family. The kids always wanted to do a character meal when they were younger, and we were just grateful that the food was good for the price we had to pay to see Mickey! We always found it such a pleasant surprise that the offerings were as gourmet as they were. Of course, they offer kid friendly foods like macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and pizza; but they also have delicious salads and homemade soups, main course items like salmon, prime rib and pasta dishes, interesting side dishes (parmesan mashed potatoes to die for) and excellent desserts from the Disney bakers. The meal is served buffet style, and the characters come around and really pay attention to your children. The most recent price I found listed was $27.99 for adults, $12.99 for children 3-9.

The Earl of Sandwich is located in Downtown Disney. We like to eat here because the prices are very reasonable, and service is quick and easy. All of their hot sandwiches run less than $5 and they offer a variety of interesting options. They make smoothies, have some delicious simples desserts and usually have one special of the day that is a true bargain for Disney property! We have eaten here several times and have not been disappointed. This is a very busy, counter service style restaurant. It isn’t fancy at all, so don’t expect fabulous. The food is good, and we think it beats waiting 2 hours for a table at the nearby Rainforest Café!

For me, a visit to Walt Disney World isn’t complete without at least one visit to Epcot’s Boulangerie Patisserie. Located in France in the World Showcase section of Epcot, this is a perfect location for an afternoon snack. We generally pick 2 or 3 different pastries and share them. I love the crème brulee, and the napoleons; my husband generally opts for one of the fruit tarts. We add a cup of café au lait and go into the cool seating area for a much-needed break.

The Grand Traverse Pie Company was founded in 1996 by Mike and Denise Busley in Traverse City, Michigan. They now have 8 locations in Michigan. The shop has been featured both regionally and nationally as a premier destination for great pies. They also offer food items such as Chicken, Prime Rib, and Mexican Pot Pies; 6 different kinds of Quiches; a lunch menu of gourmet made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups. In addition to pies, they serve other gourmet baked goods including 6 kinds of muffins, dessert bars, brownies, 6 kinds of cookies, cinnamon rolls, and more. We found the food to be very good, and the pie was unbelievable. We tried several varieties the week we were in Michigan, and loved them all. http://www.gtpie.com/

Bahama Breeze has several locations. We visited the one in Orlando, FL in May. It was crowded, and the service was not fast. Overall, it was worth the wait. Bahama Breeze has delicious food with a Caribbean twist to it. The night we ate in the restaurant, we started our meal with their signature Bahamarita. It is a frozen margarita with Cuervo Gold Tequila and real kiwi, mango and strawberry ices. It is a beautiful rainbow layered drink and tastes great! I then had the Breeze Wood-Grilled Chicken Breast, which was cooked perfectly and served with cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes. We had a Chocolate Island for dessert. It has chocolate mousse and some kind of brownie base, with chocolate and vanilla bean sauce all around it.

The wines are very unique. They are made with fruits other than grapes. I fell in love with the Key Limen. It has the flavor of a margarita without the salt! It is a sweet, white wine-that is like nothing I’ve found anywhere else. It has been the Feature wine at Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. We have also tried many of the other wines. Some of our favorites are the Blackberry Dry, the Red Raspberry, the Pineapple because they suggested marinating fresh fruit in it and serving it over pound cake, Peach, Mango, Grapefruit and Strawberry. These don’t taste like Boones Farm-they are delicious wines that capture the very fresh fruit flavors. http://www.floridawine.com/

I am a coffee drinker, and I'm picky about the taste. I received a Bzz Campaign yesterday from Storyville Coffee. I had never heard of this company before. They are coffee roasters who ship coffee freshly roasted with the date stamped on it. Mine was roasted 4 days before it got here.
This is whole bean coffee that comes with or without caffeine. Last night I ground my beans and brewed a cup in my coffee maker and it was really wonderful. Today, I ground my beans and actually made coffee in my French Press coffee pot that had been gathering dust for at least 5 years! Oh my gosh, I can't tell you how wonderful that cup of coffee was.
This is a company that ships directly to you. You can get on a regular schedule or just buy a little as a treat. It is more expensive than coffee in the grocery store-but, there is no comparison in taste. I just love it when I get to do a Bzz Campaign for a product I truly enjoy! http://www.storyville.com/

I love to visit Marco Island, FL. It has a beautiful beach, and the water is always warm and a wonderful shade of Caribbean blue-green. We don't do a lot of fine dining when we were there, but we always go to Konrad’s once per visit.
Konrad’s is well known for it’s locally caught fish and seafood, as well as the in house aged beef. What makes them very unique is that they also serve Bavarian dishes. The food is delicious, the atmosphere quiet and elegant and if you are willing to dine early and get the Sunset Special, the prices are reasonable. This isn’t the place you are going to run into for a quick dinner. This is the place where you dress up and celebrate a special occasion.

We spent a few days in St. Augustine, FL in May. I really enjoyed the meal I had at Salt Water Cowboy’s on St. Augustine Beach. The décor is like an old time fishing camp. The floors are wooden, the furniture twig and it sits on a salt marsh.
My husband had a combo plate with frog legs, catfish and alligator tail. I ordered steamed shrimp. Both dinners were prepared perfectly. Dinners came with cheese bread, salad or slaw, and 2 starch sides.
We actually ate out on the deck and watched the sunset over the marsh. It was beautiful, but the place is swarming with wild cats. I am not a “cat” person, and it freaked me out a little. If I go back to St. Augustine this is where I would go for dinner. I would however, eat inside. http://www.saltwatercowboys.com/
