People say Jackson Diner is the best Indian food in all of New York, while that used to be true, their quality has suffered. Baluchi's, now a chain, has usurped the top spot. They offer finger lickingly good malai kofta, matar paneer, and black daal. Their naans are soft yet done just right. The kebabs are a must have.

With each visit my appreciation of the Met grows. It amazes me as to how well they have preserved the various artifacts. The Temple of Dendur is very beautiful and thought provoking. I admire how much effort the curators have put in over the years to protect works of art. The only disappointing thing is the weather damaged obelisk behind the building.

Zabar's is a city favorite. They have really good quality seafood. Their selection of cheeses and nuts is also very inviting. Opened 75 years ago and still going strong, it wouldn't be New York...

Opened 75 years ago and still going strong, it wouldn't be New York without their famous Lox on bagels for breakfast. Their kitchenware section has a good selection of name brands and quality goods.

Jack's 99c store has a good reputation and their stock does not consist of things that have long since expired. I have often found good deals on the second floor, where the nicer, but slightly pricier items are stored, it's still a great bargain. The lower level has everyday needs items such as kitchenware, and frozen food and chocolates.
