Going to the Neptune feels like more of an outing than going to the big chains. It captures what I think going to the movies used to be like in the "good old days." More glamorous.
Since it's in the University District, the crowd is a little more rowdy, which is a ton of fun.
The movies they play are usually more entertaining than mainstream ones, but they also show lots of the big shows.

Service can be sketchy. Sometimes it's great, but usually you have to ask if you want a refill, etc.

I crave the cajun, but everything else I've had is fantastic as well. You can't go wrong with one of their hot subs!
Don't count out Tubs for dinner. They're open on Sundays now too!

The ambience is dark, quirky and unique. It can get smoky, but that is the only drawback.
Happy hour is a great deal if you're looking for appetizers, but I recommend getting a sandwich!

I really enjoy Zeek's Pizza, but the Ravenna location can get a little noisy on the weekends. Twice I've been there at the same time as little league teams. It's a great place for families (which can contribute to all the noise).
The pizza choices range from classic favorites to fun concoctions including several tasty vegetarian options and Thai Chicken.

Mad Pizza is great if you want something a little different. The lunch special is a great deal and gets you either a couple of creative slices (from normal pepperoni to whatever they feel like making that day) or a slice and salad. Salads are made to order and include some yummy ones like the Mad Chopper. Although full pizzas are more expensive than chains, I think they are worth the price!
The staff (at the First Hill location anyway) is always friendly and make the best salads!

I think this is a great place for a casual date or to bring your family.

I've got curly hair and have the hardest time finding a stylist I trust with it. I've seen Amber for several years, following her from her last salon. She's the only one I feel I can say "do whatever you think will look great" and let her work her magic.
I highly recommend her and Bocz Salon. Although it is a bit spendy, you are treated like a queen/king and it's worth every penny!
