Sure you'll wait for your table, but waiting outside on Queen Anne on a sunny Sunday is part of the experience!
They have larger tables, so can accommodate 6 better than a lot of breakfast places.
Their fruit seems a little fresher than most breakfast sites and there are a lot of choices, everyone will be happy.
I usually opt for lunch and I'm never disappointed.

Be careful when you enter Nancy's, you'll suddenly come up with all these projects you want to complete. You'll NEED the beautiful silks and ribbons. Maybe don't bring your wallet in the first go-round.
The fabrics are beautiful. Great place to find bridal lace and other special occasion fabrics.
The ribbons and flowers, all in their special room, are to die for. There are vintage ribbons that are fun just to look at.
If you need something special for your project, you'll find it at Nancy's.

The mangodilla might sound like a giant japanese horror villian, but it is the best thing on the menu at Agua Verde. Yummy melted cheese, mangos, what's not to love! The food is great and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
There is often a wait, but it's worth it. Try the happy hour. The menu is limited, but great snacks to finish off the work day!

I've been to matador 3 times and I'm still not converted. I found the food so-so and the service just o.k. The place is a little to "sceney" for Ballard and gets really busy. Sure, the outdoors are nice in the summer, but I don't think this place is worth the wait. Drinks are pretty expensive and it may be awhile before you get a second round.

Ok. A friend and I were having an argument about the best doughnut in town and we decided to have a blind taste test. Several hours later and after many pieces of doughnuts (I'm still a little queasy), TopPot came out on top of many categories.
These doughnuts are like what your grandma would make. Sure they're greasy, but DOUGHNUTS ARE FRIED! That's the magic of doughnuts.
Dig in and enjoy, don't think about the calories!

Not exactly authentic anything (southwest, mexican or spanish), the food is really tasty and I'm never disappointed.
The chef is amazing and comes up with great nightly specials. Recently I had a fabulous margarita cheesecake with salt on the side.

Zoka's is usually really packed with laptop users and students cramming for exams. If you are wanting a place to chat with friends, you might get some dirty looks from those who are studying or working. Tell them to get over it and let them know where the nearest library is!
They make great hot cider and cocoa (I'm not a coffee drinker, but I hear their coffee is really good, too.) Homebaked goodies won't disappoint, especially their pies.
Weekend nights there is often (loud) entertainment.
This is a great neighborhood place!

Thai Tom has a well-deserved reputation for good food on the Ave. Very tough to get in when busy (it is TINY), you'll have to wait, but it's worth it. If you go within an hour of closing and they're busy, they'll probably tell you that you can only order to go. Have a backup if you want to sit and eat somewhere.
The food is pretty inexpensive and portions are pretty big.
I ordered 1 star and it was pretty spicy for 1, be forewarned!
