If your idea of heaven is pursuing through endless stacks of books, then Tattered Cover is the perfect place for you. The original Cherry Creek location is my favorite. It has one of the best selections of any Denver bookstore. If you can't find the book you want, the very knowledgeable staff will help you order it, or even suggest something you may like better. The store features cozy armchairs perfect for reading and relaxing while your family members shop. If you need a pick-me-up, visit the coffee shop on the main floor featuring locally roasted and brewed coffee - not another green mermaid. Or, if refined is more your style, check out the Fourth Story, a cozy restaurant with a full menu, champagne jazz brunches and martini Mondays. After a day full of browsing, stop by one of the evening book chats with the authors. The store always has a great schedule of literary events.
If you don't want to venture to the Cherry Creek North, the Tattered Cover has expanded to lower downtown (16th and Wynkoop) and to Highlands Ranch (Broadway and Highlands Ranch Parkway) while still maintaing its independent charm and pride.
