The Bodysong community is a group of healers (channels, massage therapists, shamans, and music healers) in Seattle, just north of Greenlake. They offer monthy readings, like group Akashic record readings on the new moon (with different topics every month), full moono circles, and a provider list of massage therapists. There is a sweet garden for relaxing as well.

I was introduced to Akashic Record readings a few years ago, and have had several and think they're really great. For me, it's a strong alternative form of healing, and I've done it along with Therapy. Getting a reading is essentially working with a channel to your spirit guides and I've asked questions about life, past lives, money, jobs and family.

Highline is a pretty decent club for a smaller town. Their monthy rates include all their classes (which I appreciate) and they offer body pump (a mix of arobics and weights), yoga and weights. With two basketball courts that convert to pickle ball, they are equipt for most exericise. They also have a pool that is a mixture of bromine and chlorine, which is a little easier on the skin.

PCC really is one of the best natural markets around - and it's lovely that it's a co-op. With a lifetime membership (which I think is around $60), you get 5% off everything you buy on the 15th and 16th of every month, which is a pretty good deal. They also have a deli with excellent prepared food, serve good bagles, and actually make a good cup of coffee!

Bombay Grill is the best Indian I've found in Seattle to date. If you are a vegetarian, their options are extensive and their prices are good. I had nearly the best ever chicken tikka masala at Bombay Grill. And their naan is fantastic.
I think they deliver in the neighborhood (University), too.

If you are still rending DVDs from a store, Scarecrow ist he place to go. You'll find just about every film here - independents, film festival circuit entries, oldies, hard-to-finds, etc. In fact, they are so great that when you call to inquire, they do a full-scale search for you over the phone, and will often hold the DVD for you.

While helping a friend, I realized that it's really easy to finish your degree with on-line, distance learning classes at Seattle Community College. They are affordable - about $350 per class - so it's a great way to get the credit you need to finish your degree. Correspondence classes mean you don't even ever have to go to campus.

Eveyone always told me Rudy's was a find - cheap haircuts, with hip stylists. That was not what I found. I got the single worst haircut in my life there...from a guy who, while cutting my hair (horribly), told me that my cut was so easy that noone could mess it up. He proceeded to do just that, all the while not listening to what I wanted and completely doing his own thing, despite my repeated requests.
Don't bother with Rudy's unless you are in the military!

I couldn't believe it when I walked in the door - Fred Meyer in Burien has a great selection of organic foods and products - including organic produce. It is all very reasonably priced (sometimes cheaper than PCC and Whole Foods). In fact, now when I just need a quick shop, I go to FM because it is closer, and because I want to reward them for having this department. They even have hormone-free meat!

This Peets is just a couple of blocks off Ravena and Greenlake, but is a better place to meet than Starbucks! They have big window doors that open during the nice hours, so you can sit inside but get the fresh air. There is usually ample parking and you can walk right across the street to a bench by the lake.
