Family Fun

One of the country's top zoos, Woodland Park has great exhibits on a wide variety of animals. A perennial favorite of mine is the summer-only butterfly garden. It's a gigantic tent with many different species of butterflies and plants flying around inside. It's positively spectacular. I have a soft spot in my heart for the penguins, too. The elephants and lions are housed in neat exhibits which reflect their natural habitats. The staff are very conscientious and care very much about the health and safety of the animals. The west entrance is frequently closed in the off-season, but the South Entry is quite busy in summer. Check out their website for hours and admission prices before heading out as things can change depending on the weather.
