With the name Shanahan's you expect to find an Irish pub of some sort lining the street. But, upon entering you find the complete opposite of that thought. Inside, you will find some of the best cajun cuisine in the suburbs. Shanahan's offers a full bar for the late night crowd and bar-goers, but the dining room in the back invites you to come try some of the best jambalaya and gumbo in the house! They offer very unique cajun dishes as well. Including deep fried Artichoke hearts and even fried green tomatoes. They also offer some different spins to the regular jambalaya one can order. You can also order it with slices of premium filet on top. Their beer list is quite extensive and even offers some southern themed beers to compliment your meal. A great time to be had by anyone who goes here. Delicious food and the bar isn't too far away!

This family owned restaurant is a great little alternative to going to an expensive Italian place. When you walk in, you're automatically like family. The bar is filled with regulars and you can hear the animated conversations bustling from the restaurant's dining room. Some of their specialities include: pizzaola bread, soups, Eggplant Parmagiana, Beef Sandwiches and their famous big pizzas. They also have a wonderful Italian Lemon Cheesecake that is made there from scratch. They have a full bar and the atmosphere is a little loud but very friendly. The prices are extremely cheap. Very tasty food for a dinner night out during the week.

If you're looking for good mexican food and some good margaritas at the same time, well, then Fiesta Mexicana is an excellent choice. A few blocks away from the DePaul University campus, this restaurant offers some great big servings of Fajitas and wonderful pitchers of margaritas. On the weekends, you can find a husband and wife musician team playing some spanish music for your delight. They take requests and try to make everyone have a good time, which actually does happen! Parking is difficult in this area, but Valet parking is available for a small fee. The prices are moderate. But thats what you could expect with the area that this restaurant is located in. Otherwise, it's a great place to go to any day of the week to have a good time. It's usually never crowded too much unless it's Saturday night.

Everyone else has heard about all the new brazilian grills popping up around the Chicago land area, but the price tag is just outrageous. Asada Brazilian Grill is the answer to that price dilemna. Priced half at what you would pay at all the other Churrasco places, Asada offers some of the best quality meats you can find in Chicago. Their huge salad bar is like a welcome mat before they start to come out with skewer after skewer of meats. Some of the best choices are the Roasted Pork, Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon and the Skirt steak. The decor is elegant but very laid back. Very casual. There is a full bar offered as well. You can eat to your heart's content and you will not leave disappointed. One amazing option is the grilled pineapple. A delicious treat if you can get it! It usually runs out before it can make it out the kitchen doors! A must visit if ever in Evanston!

This restuarant is one of the most authentic Mexican Restaurants around. Located in the heart of the Pilsen neighborhood, you will find this quaint restaurant that offers some of the most delicous food at very low prices. The decor on the inside is made to make you feel like your in a small mexican town. The dishes offered are very similar to the ones served back in the mexican state of Nuevo Leon. Some favorite dishes are the Tacos Sabinas which are grilled steak tacos topped with grilled tomatos, onions and chihuahua cheese and refried beans and other traditional dishes such as enchiladas, tamales, mexican stews and of course, their famous fajitas. They're so fresh, they come sizzling to your table. Also, it is BYOB. This place stays open 24 hours on the weekends for all the late owls who need a place to grab some great food. The establishment is always clean and a great time to be had. The owner is always there and he's always looking to talk to his customers!

Jose Camacho does some of the best hair around the downtown Chicago land area. His hair salon has been located in the trendy Oak Street area for the past 20 years. Some of his specialty services include, coloring, haircuts, styling and manicures. His wonderful expertise in hairstyling has even landed him a couple of times on the 'Oprah Show' doing hair for Oprah herself and for some of the makeover shows. He works with you one on one to find a style that will fit your needs. And from the moment you walk in, you feel like you're a million bucks even before he does anything to your hair. It's first class all the way. It is pricey, but the style he does on you is well worth it if you're really looking for a fabulous haircut/style. His facility has a relaxed atmosphere which will make you want to stay for hours.

This is one of the coolest ways to relax your mind, body and soul at once! The method of this place is to place you into a tank filled with a few inches of water that contains thousands of pounds of epsom salts. The result is that you float. It causes utter weightlessness and pure relaxation. The water is at body temperature and privacy is entirely enforced. You recieve your own tank in a private room with showers and everything. It is conveniently located in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. The times are set in 1 hour sessions. At many times you fall asleep soundly in the tank. A half hour of sleep in this tank is supposed to be the equivalent of 4 or 5 hours of regular sleep you would get at night. You can quietly reflect to yourself, let your thoughts wander and just relax your entire body and experience the calming effect this tank will have on your self. Sessions are a bit costly but, it is more of a deal is you buy the sessions in bulk. Great gift idea! Once you go, you'll get hooked and crave the experience over and over again.

The Pink Frog boutique is located in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood, only a few steps away from Wrigley Field. The clothes in here are some of the trendiest you'll ever see. Very cool and fun clothing! They carry all kinds of women's clothing, accessories and shoes. The prices are reasonable but there are some things that are kind of overpriced. One such example are some of the shoe brands. Some of them can be found cheaper at your local big name department store. But, other items are independent labels and very unique. The atmosphere is trendy meets punk. It is also conveniently located close to the Red Line for easy access.

I came across this adoption facility when i was looking to adopt a new pet. The facility is quaint, resembling a small house, but when you walk inside it's a lot more like big home filled with different pets to look at. The staff was made up entirely of volunteers who volunteer there out of just plain love for animals. They take amazing care of the pets there and by the way they are recieved by the dogs and cats upon entering the kennels, you can tell that the staff has a lot of caring contact with them, which is very important. The adoption process seems a little more difficult, asking for all members of the family to be present at once who will be living with the dog. Other specifications are asked of, and were a little inconvenient but in light of the situation, understandable. Still, the adoption place is a great one. Very thorough.
