Bar-B-Q for Miami
Thursday, August 25, 2005
Since the early 1950s, Miami residents and visitors have flocked to Shorty’s for their Bar-B-Q fix, with all the fixings. Slow-cooked and smoked to perfection, the meat is tender and flavorful. The ribs are especially nice. The restaurant has the classic ambiance of a shack. Its construction might be described as something between a cabin and a tent. I have no idea how it can withstand the average rain storm, much less the hurricanes of recent years. Clearly, it is the food that keeps the customers coming back after all these years. Or maybe they put an addictive chemical in the sweet sauce…
