Best darn yarn store around. They have tons of selection and plenty of helpful service (while shopping or mid project). You may end up paying more then you would at a chain store, but the yarn is going to be 1) better quality 2) original and 3) prettier. You can even come on in for a knit and a chat. They offer plenty of instruction.

This quaint shop is tucked away in the Market near the fish throwers. They have a great tea assortment as well as original tea accessories. I am a big fan of going in there just to have a look (and smell) around. If you know anyone who loves their tea, this is the place for them.

This place is generally pretty busy. I had heard a lot about it, so one night I decided to check it out. I had a calzone and my boyfriend had the pasta. He was somewhat satisfied with the pasta (but it wasn't anything you couldn't make at home), but my calzone was dry and boring. Maybe the pizza is better than what we had, who knows... the service wasn't very nice or attentive.

I love this place, it is the best dive around. They have a great menu (like turkey and cranberry sandwich, fish n' chips, and steak with potatoes) and it's all served up in a very dingy sailboat-esque decor. A great place to go have many a beer with friends. Get the Slooper- it will be the biggest and best beer you have ever had! For being such a dive, it attracts a random crowd, which is one of the reason the Sloop is so cool. Very relaxed. It's the kind of place where you can get a good meal, a large beer, and have a smoke and the servers don't smother you with smiles, but they are attentive.

This is, indeed, West Seattle's best kept secret. From the outside, it looks very unassuming. The inside is dark and welcoming. Very swanky decor- I guess it kind of reminds me of a bowling alley....
This is, indeed, West Seattle's best kept secret. From the outside, it looks very unassuming. The inside is dark and welcoming. Very swanky decor- I guess it kind of reminds me of a bowling alley. They have a great comfort food type menu and an excellent HAPPY HOUR from 4-6 (seven days a week!) with $2.50 pints of Manny's, cheap cocktails, and the apps are $4 a piece (nachos, quesidillas, hummus plate, etc). This place mixes a great martini! The main menu is rich and satisfying- I recommend the luscious Mac-N-Cheese, meatloaf sandwich, grilled cheese, Ruben, or the meatloaf platter. They have a super desert menu, too! Great place to go out on a date or to meet up with friends. The staff is always very welcoming.

I agree with all the other reviews. This place has the best burgers-- all those fast food burgers have nothing on Red Mill! Everything I have ever had here has be absolutely amazing. Try the verde...

Try the verde burger with fries! The onion rings are great and so are the shakes. They also have chicken burger and veggie options. There is usually a line for lunch on the weekend, but they get through it pretty fast. And don't ever plan on going when the Stones are in town because they close the place down to go to the show! The service is always friendly and speedy. If I ever want a burger, I make the 20 minute drive to Red Mill!

The sandwich was good, but not any better than any other sandwich place. I was there for lunch, so maybe the night time ambiance is more fun.

I had never even touched a sewing machine when I signed up for a sewing class through the community college, and now I have no FEAR! I took a sewing class with Cathy, along with 7 other people, and we all learned the basics and gained the confidence to work on our own projects. She was the most patient instructor ever. Great instruction! I highly recommend checking this place out.

I think the store on 4th is ok. They have wide variety of fabrics and notions, but you can find better prices elsewhere. The people working were helpful once they were asked to be.

Hancock Fabrics has a great selection of fabric and notions. The ladies that work there are always willing to help. Great Sales every couple of weeks.
