Manhattan Grand Optical opened not too long ago on the corner of Grand and Mott street, a few stores down from the famous Ferrara. Passing by the store today, it is still as beautiful as the day it opened. Its glass windows were perfectly clean and all the frames were organized by design and maker. I got my prescription filled here for my most recent pair and the prices are pretty decent if you don't choose designer label frames. It is also located right across the street from Di Palo's.

In order to stay sanitary, they wear masks and keep their tools clean. However, if you are worried about catching a disease, feel free to bring your own supplies. They won't judge you for that and understand quite well. Splendid Nail Salon is also reasonably priced due to competition of nail salons along 18th avenue.

99 Cents Rainbow is a large 99 cents store that has everything you can imagine. They have kitchen items, table cloths, household fixtures and tools and applicances. They also sell more expensive items on one side of the store such as large lamp fixtures, china and clock radios. They provide items at the bargain prices but the store is messy and a little on the dirty side. Also, they only have 2 or 3 workers so it might be hard to find help. On the other hand, these savings pass onto the customers. Some great items are laundry basket, napkins, and seasonals items for just 99 cents plus tax.
