Digital Society was a lonely little outpost that offered both the machines and help to understanding them. As well as sales and help they also do upgrades, repairs and training.

I admit it, I am addicted to steamed pork dumplings and can eat a whole steamer or two by myself. Unlike some other restaurants that make this Shanghai treat there never seems to be a long wait here. As good as the dumplings are it probably is a good idea not to fill up on them because the menu offers many other great dishes. Although I've never tried any of the things with fish belly in the name I would suggest just about anything else.

The food is terrific and they were creative when they designed the way the restaurant would looks but one of my favorite things about Rice is that they offer everything in a small or large size. It's the perfect place when you want something to eat but not a big meal because it's too close to dinner or you feel like you can eat a horse so you get the large portion.
You get to choose the kind of rice you want with your meal and I would like to point out that if you don't keep going back enough to try them all it is your loss.

I really like Spice except for one little thing, the name. Before this restaurant opened there was already a restaurant down the block named Cafe Spice and everytime I ask someone to meet me at Spice who hasn't been there before I have to explain the two places with almost the same name. OK, never mind.
Spice looks like they got a talented designer fresh out of school with lots of energy to work on their project. The interior is food for the eyes while you wait for the edible food to be served. The prices are low per item but everything is so good that it is easy to get carried away and order enough to make the check more than you expected.
They cater and they deliver too.

In 1983 New York Magazine said they were a Best Bet for a baby size kimono made of 100% cotton and packaged in a take out food container. They also have some toys that you won't find at Toy's R Us. The store is quite simple in design and looks like it was made to make it easy to go in with a stroller or toddler in hand.

The inventory gets sold obviously but they seem to have an endless supply and replenish the quirky clothing, toys and old magazines so the store is always crowded with stuff.

The Strand claims to have 18 miles of books and I believe it. This store has deeply discounted books, 50% off cover price on thousands of new titles. They also have books in every category from art books to rare books. Besides their offerings for sale I have known many people who picked up pocket money selling books back to the Strand.
The one thing that seems odd to me about the Strand is that they will sell you books by the foot to decorate empty book shelves but then it is handy if you're dressing a set for a movie or play.
