Fanelli's has been in the same place since 1922 but there has been a new owner since the early 1980's. Fortunately it still has the feel of a down and dirty artists' bar where you can get some food with the alcohol. The dinginess also effectively keeps out the people who are more comfortable at places like the Merc bar down the block.
