I am a guy who couldn't care less about dresses and women's clothing, couture if you will. A couple of close female friends of mine come up from Portland to have dresses made here. One had her wedding dress made and it was quite lovely. Apparently, it is a big deal to have dress made especially for you. I understand they have a great designer, use quality fabrics and it's actually affordable. I pass this recommendation on.

Is it wrong to be 37 years old and want to play with children's toys? If so I blame Golden Age Collectibles. Tucked onto one of the lower level of Pike Place Market this killer store has the best collection of off-beat toys, lunch pails, comic books, movie scripts and celebrity cardboard cut outs I have ever seen compiled into one space. The talking Simpsons figures, snorting Abominable Snowman from the Rudolph special and Silence of the Lamps lunch pail keep me coming back.

If i am lazy or liquored up, this is my go-to place for a good pizza joint that delivers. Located at the top of Queen Anne, Elliott Bay Pizza combines homemade dough, tangy fresh sauces, and plentiful quality toppings into one delicious pie. Highly recommended. And frankly, there's not enough vodka to make Dominos or Pizza Hut actually taste good.

This awesome salvage store at the foot of the Ballard Bridge collects and resells vintage items from demolished or gentrified homes, schools and buildings. A friend bought these spectacular chandeliers for her home from a now-demolished historic hotel. Lot's of light fixtures, doors, knobs, bathroom fixtures and even those little desks from school.. Even if you are not in the market for something specific, this is a fun visit.

If i need a card for a special occasion, I head to Pioneer Square's Cat. They obviously have a great buyer with a good eye. There is basically something here for everyone's taste. You know hoe you can go into Hallmark and there's just nothing there that's quite right? This is your place. Good selection of gift wrapping paper too. I love them also because they let me bring my dog in, had a treat for him and invited him back.

How many times can you go to the top of the Space Needle before it becomes a bore? Apparently twice. Loved it as a kid. Loved seeing it again as an adult. It is always on the must-see list for out-of-towners, but I refuse, I saw the Elvis movie "It Happened at the World's Fair" recently. Why doesn't the Seattle Center look like this anymore? A fantasy wonderland of the future as seen in 1962. No attention paid here to historic preservation. The amusement park sucks too.

I never have understood why this place is popular. People rave about it and it always seems to be busy. At their Broadway location our order was screwed up royally and the nasty little waiter had the nerve to blame it on us! The manage said he would comp it and then changed his mind. Apparently, at Julia's, the customer is never right. Additionally, the food was adequate. Clearly, it had been sitting under the lights for awhile before it came. Food was the same at the Wallingford location. Ain't gonna happen again.

In my line of work, I have the need for the use of a good printer quite often. Olympus press is far from the best bargain in town but their work is high quality. The team is efficient and they have been known to donate a print job to a good cause every now and then. I have never actually had a bad job completed by them. Does not get much better than that.

This professional, resident theatre company produces contemporary, plays, special events, and solo performances. When i lived in Portland, back in the 1980's, I had actually come up with friends to see a play there. It was a lot of fun. i continue to enjoy sporadic performances there now that I am a Seattle resident. They could be a little edgier for my taste, but still good times to be had. Glad that they are on sounder financial footing these days.

Since I am one quarter Chinese, I can get away with that review title. Adam Tailor is a great alterations guy who works out of a tiny little closet in Pioneer Square. The only employee is a sweet, little older Chinese man. Hem's curtains for $5 a panel and does pants cheaper than anyone else. he's good, pleasant to deal with a quick. The only I am not convinced of is that his name is actually Adam Tailor.
