There's not enough good words in the dictionary for me to express how great this place is, if you've never been there, go (NOW!!!), if you haven't been there in years, go (NOW!!!), or if you were there yesterday, go (NOW!!!). Seriously it's that great, even if you buy nothing you'll walk out raving about how much fun you had. They have an awesome selection of crazy products from all over the world, and a bunch of cool pieces of history from around Washington. Be sure to get your fortune read by Madame Zelda. SO MUCH FUN! Go, go, go, go, go, go.... what are you doing still reading this crappy review? GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elliot Bay is pretty hard to out do especially if you are close, I don't even read all that much and I think this place is great. Besides you feel alot better walking out of Elliot Bay than you ever will out of a Barnes and Noble (shudder at the thought).

If you are looking for Punk Rock music (or culture for that matter) there's no where else to go in Seattle except Singles Going Steady (come on they named there store after a Buzzcocks song... that's gotta count for something. A wide varity of all styles of punk (ie: Street, OI!, Pop, Ska, '77, Thrash, Hardcore, etc. etc. etc.) they have tons of vinyl meaning plenty of stuff you've never heard plus they have a great selection of punk zines, patches, buttons and everthing else you would need (if you actually belive fashion has something to do with punk rock that is). Final proof that this is Seattle punk HQ... the web page hasn't been updates since Joe Strummer died... remember that Clash song "Stop the World"?

Ian has got some really cool clothes but the question of whether or not you'll wear them always seems to pop up in the back of my mind. Don't get me wrong they all look great on the hangers and in the changing room but once you get home and start thinking about where you are going to actually wear them options start to get limited, at least they did for me. It's worth checking out but I find it rare that there's more than one or two things that I'm actually willing to drop the cash on.

Zebra Club has great clothes for both men and women but remember "great clothes" usually equals expensive clothes and zebra club is no exception to the rule. They carry great brands that you won't always find at alot of other, less hip stores plus the music that plays as you shop gives you that funky feeling. If you have a healthy check book and a hankering for some new clothes go check out Zebra Club, you're bound to find something.

My wife and I love this place so much it's rare that we'll eat Italian food any where else! Family run in the truest sense of the word family, like Mom, Dad, and sons. We went in once on a whim and absolutley loved it, the next time we came in (about a month and a half latter) the host (ie: mom of the family) recognized us and told us she was happy to see us again and even remembered what we had had.... that's just crazy in a city this size, I can't even remember half the people I know. Oh yeah, and the food is great! All of it!

Man, the Tea Cup is great! The staff is REALLY nice and REALLY helpful. I went in not knowing anything about tea looking for a gift for my wife for her birthday, I (attempted) to explain what types of teas she liked (which I could barely do) and they helped me find four interesting and tasty teas, in fact they did so good that one of the ones I had bought my wife had just ran out of and I had never even heard of it!

Easy Street records is the best spot in Seattle to find what music your looking for. The store is massive with well organized layouts of all CD and records (New and used), plus a great selection of music related reading material and plenty of DVD's too. They offer free parking steps outside the building and are constantly hosting live in store performances from both local and nationally touring artist. Far and away the best place in Seattle for music geeks and the casual shopper alike.

Blackbird sports many a great thread (men's only - sorry ladies) within their new Ballard location and a few grooming products as well. When compared to other retailers that carry the same lines their prices are fair (ie : the stuff that's expensive at blackbird is expensive every where). A great place to go when you NEED to look hip and have the money to do so. Friendly staff too!

Bottleworks is, by far, the best place to buy bottled beer in all of Washington. The selection is over 850 (!!!!!!!!) different individual bottles. Every style of beer you can possibly imagine is available including many well aged barley wines, exclusive and limited time brews, and local favorites. Their staff is always helpful and knows plenty about the stock. Give them a call before you go and ask them when they'll be doing a tasting next (about twice a month, usually tuesdays, a brewery will come in and pour samples of their product for only a dollar... not per taste but per session). If you even think you enjoy beer you must go to Bottleworks!
