Mona's is a swanky but friendly neighborhood restaurant and wine-bar. It's also a really fun place to go for martini's or other fancy drinks. It's the kind of place you might to go smoke a cigar. The food is also good, a little heavy on the meat. We tend to stick to the drinks. The decor is a bit dark, red, sometimes a bit smoky, in a good way. It's the place to go when you want to dress up a bit and be a bit fancy without being snobbish.

A typical neighborhood coffee shop with a lot of friendlyness and none of the corporate crap. They tend to cater more toward the morning crowd. Stop in and get a yummy soy latte or whatever strikes your fancy. They're usually closed by 3 PM on weekdays. Great scones and bagles too. It's a small place but worth checking out if you're in the area. We pretty much hit Lulu every morning on the way to the bus. The revolving art collections are interesting, too.

This is a very good neighborhood Thai restaurant. My wife and I don't typically go in for the plain old Phad Thai but we're big time into noodles and Krittika has some of the best noodle that we've found in Seattle. Their bean threads are awesome and I haven't found them at any other Thai place. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is casual. It's a great place for takeout if you live nearby. Highly recommended.
