I once walked over two miles with a coworker after we finished work in search of the cupcakes at Magnolia. While the cupcakes come in standard flavors (mostly vanilla and chocolate with similar sprinkle schemes), they are absolutely divine. There are other bakery options available (including a variety of cookies and cakes), but the long lines that crowd the exterior of the tiny bakery are all for these cupcakes. Any true dessert fan should try this at least once. Don’t forget the milk.

If you are in the mood for a great deli sandwich, this is a solid choice. They also specialize in all types of bakery items that are delicious, although the prices are typical for what you would expect of a Manhattan franchise.

The food is just okay, and definitely does not live up to the exploded reputation its received. For the long lines and price, there are many better restaurants in the immediate area. The desserts did somewhat redeem the restaurant, but overall, it would never make the top of my list.

While the service is a bit long at times, the cuisine is very authentic, down to the extra virgin olive oil served before each meal. The interior is fashionably designed and I was impressed even from the first steps into the door. If the ethnically prepared fish on the menu isn’t to your design, you can also order the freshest of fish by the pound. Don’t miss the extensive wine list, either.

For a little more money, you can get better attention (careful: the attention is a bit disingenuous) in this spacious boutique. They have the latest styles but definitely cater to a more model-type figure, and less towards the average female shopper. It is worth the seasonal check, if only for the arrangement of fashions.

The staff is relatively friendly, there is a bit of a language barrier with some of them, which can make this experience a little uncomfortable. The salon also has great pedicure and hair services, making this a great shop (although very expensive).
