Even with all the construction going on there now it's an improvement over the junky place it used to be. It's run down, dirty and generally icky. Parking is a nightmare, as always. The only events I've gone to at the Civic Center have been during the afternoons as I would not recommend that area after dark. The arena was outdated and the bathrooms and concessions below par.
I would definitely NOT recommend to anyone, unless you desperately wanted to see a specific performance there!
