A mainstay retail front for the Seattle design community, Peter has also expanded to a 'home' store (see 'Peter Miller Details') that goes beyond the Alessi pieces and Phaidon books available through his original bricks and mortar site. If you are into architecture and industrial design, you can't pass up a visit to this great resource.

Into high-end denim? Need to feel 25 again? Looking to outfit a bachelor pad with retro furniture? This boutique in the Pike/Pine retail corridor is your next destination. These guys have been a great source of everything from 70's style Scandie beds to open collar fitted shirts. Be sure and check out the micro-art shows in the back, too.

Need that rare recording of Pete Fountain to mix with Camper van Beethoven? Don't even bother buying the album - chances are they're both performing in the store sometime soon. If there were awards in the category of "Best Supporting Record Store", Easy Street would be sweeping the statues for best vinyl selection, best used department, best sales, and can-do sales staff.

I was forwarded to here when I need a special frame for a 16th century print -- an archival quality mount with UV protective glass and acid-free backing. The guys at Art Form knew exactly how to treat the plate and what types of materials were appropriate. Not in on Mondays, or after 10 am, so you'll need your out-of-work roommate to drop-off and pick-up the order.

From the whimsical to the classically designed found object, this little hideaway on the top of Queen Anne is a great store to find that accent for the end table. Not to be missed at Christmas time -- it has all the feel of a Fifth Avenue boutique. The hand cranked press print pieces (invitations, cards, save-the-dates, et al) are some of the best in the city.

Need a new keyboard after deciding your last Dell Inspiron looked thirsty? Meet your new heros. I've got to believe that despite their modest business bedside manner, these guys shed their purple pullover uniforms at the end of the workday and don their Superguy outfits to right the rest of the world. Great service thats priced better than your OEM support.

Trendy Taryn Rose, Pumas, or Thierry Rabotins, and a ton of great shoes for guys and gals. If you can hold out for the bi-annual sales, you'll score a great deal.

It's small, a little dusty, and got more character than Walt Kelly's "Pogo". This tucked-away shop (squeezed between Champion Party Supplies and Tini Biggs) has a great selection, fair prices, and knowledgable staff. Need a dry Tokaj? No prob. Small production WA merlot? Got that too. A choice '97 Cab? Sure, been keeping that hidden for a while. The only thing you won't find is product in bulk -- don't be surprised if all they have left is 1-3 of the exact bottle you seek ...

Go in late on the right evenings, and you'll find these guys in the back of the store "market testing" their hand-picked cheese with various wines from around the world. If you're lucky enough, they might even encourage you to give them your feedback. Great scheduled wine pairings as well, and a host of fantastic domestic and European cheeses.
