The Andy Warhol Museum houses many of Warhol's more memorable works in the multi-story building. While his art is fascinating, there are exhibits that have clippings he collected throughout his life, from receipts to newspaper clippings. The clippings help provide a timeline of Warhol's life, and incite into his regular run-ins with major stars and trips on the Concord. A favorite for everyone is the silver-balloon, which will make the museum visit worth it even for children [note that some of his art might not be appropriate for young children...].

Although most of the toys are small, you can some interesting puzzles, children's reading material, and novelty items. Price can sometimes seem a bit high, so the store can be good for browsing and later purchasing items online.

There are exhibits on mammals, insects, reptiles... almost everything imaginable! An interesting exhibit on rocks/gemstones is also available. Be warned that the museum is popular with visitors, so expect swarms of young children to be running around.

Visiting the "National Cathedral" is free, but donations are recommended. Regular tours of the interior are provided, which detail the history behind much of the gigantic, gothic styled church....

Having only been finished in 1990 (after almost 100 years of construction), construction is still going on around the buidling (e.g. adding a parking lot). Street parking is available.

For students, Health Services does provide discounted birth control options, including the pill for females. Before going into Health Services, make sure you look up possible diagnoses for your problems... they have been known to provide "interesting" remedies.

The St. Gregory Hotel is an amazing bargain, rivaling high-end chain hotels for more than half the price. Although the rooms are quite small, they are decorated nicely with warm, soothing colors, unlike some bland chain hotels (e.g. Marriot). Rooms were fully furnished, with many extras like a CD stereo and refrigerator. The beds, while comfortable, are not up to par high-end chain hotels, but for the price the beds are more than acceptable.
The rooms were well maintained, with furniture showing minimal use. Staff was helpful, and housekeeping was above average. Typical of hotels, the walls did not provide complete sound isolation, but it was not much of an issue. Thankfully, doors are padded to prevent the obnoxious slamming that plagues most hotels.
Note -- be careful about mini-bar/food charges. A price list does not accompany the food. The hotel offers a broadband internet connection, but it was not working during my stay in August.

Kennywood is dwarfed by bigger amusement parks like Cedar Point and Six Flags, but the small Pittsburgh park retains its charm with historic wooden roller coasters. The coasters gradually increase in hill size as you head into the park, and are great for people who normally do not like the height of roller coasters. The Exterminator is a must -- although it can have a foul odor, it's an hysterical adventure on a winding coaster in the dark.
Be warned that the staff can be horrible -- even calling guests (including children) derogatory names. Don't bring an appetite -- the food is horrible.

With a selection of ultra tight, "fashionable" clothing, Moda can be pretentious. If you think Express for Men is too plain, run to Moda where the season's most flambyouant colors can be had -- but for a price. You will definitely not find these high-end designer clothes at traditional outlets or department stores, making Moda a unqiue clothing store in Pittsburgh. If you're looking for something to show off your body for a night of clubbing, check out Moda.

What makes me recommend this place is there persistence in making sure this sistah had a skirt that fit perfectly. Normally it's hard for me to find a good fit since I maintain the proportions that God gave me -- unlike those plastic LA girls. I'm so thrilled to have a skirt that shows off my assets, and can be worn to work or to any club in the city. Go to Skirtitude! They will measure you and alter your skirt so that it meets your requirements, and feels good to where anywhere.
