Anthropologie is known to me and my friends as the best place to find skirts. They are everywhere- with paterns or embellished and solid, floor sweeping and knee skimming, ruffled and straigh- and they are all gorgeous. Pants, tops, jackets, and jewelry are also feminine. Items are layed out over the spacious store on shelves and tables, with the sale items in the back on racks.
Want to try anything on? You bet! The dressing rooms are amazing!! White wooden doors on each open into large well-lit rooms, each with a full lenght mirror. Outside, in the center of the floor surrounded by dressing rooms is a comfortable couch to sit on while you wait for a friend to finish up. With helpful staff able to get you another size or give their input, the place is perfection.
Prices are fairly expensive but well priced considering the excellent detailing, fabric, and fitting in all their items.
Next time you want to treat yourself to a special item, or just enjoy twirling around in a few cute skirts, go to this place.

Jon English, a stylish upscale salon, offers excellent services for hair- whether from Jon himself, his wife, one of the many talented staff, or the apprentices. Prices from Jon or one of their knowledgeable employees can be very expensive, but an apprentice that has been working under their supervision for months can offer a good alternative for a reasonable price, if you're not looking for anything too special.
The products used and sold at the salon are all the salon's own special formula and work etremely well- I own the finishing gloss and it is excellent.
I have never had one of the highly expensive cuts or colors that I can't afford, but enjoyed simple trims from the apprentices for years. The only bad experience I had was when I asked for layers that ended up off, but I got a full refund. I know people whose current signature haircut was formulated by Jon's wife and they are extremely appreciative and satisfied.
So, no matter how much you want to spend, Jon English offers a great place to go for a high-end feel and a great range of experienced employees.

Although not the spa-like retreat it tries to be, Urban Retreat still offers a great selection of services in an urban environment. Waxes, hair, nails, makeup, and massage are all offered.
The atmosphere is great- an open area with magazines to read and jars of candy to eat while you wait. The staff and clientèle are on the younger side and always youthful and hip.
I used to go for an eyebrow or leg wax once in a while and they always did their best to make it a relaxing experience- which isn't easy. The lady who waxed my brows, always stylish, friendly and smiling, would take me to a small quiet room with light music, ask me exactly what I wanted, then politely carry on a conversation as the hairs were extracted. I had a bad experience only once when they had a makeup artist do my brows who didn't really know what she was doing, but I called and they gave me a second complimentary appointment with a much more skillful waxer.
Urban offers a fun, hip, and generally enjoyable place to forget about the buzzing streets surrounding you and sit back for once to be pampered.

Although Punch is small and isn't a place to go for waitors and waitresses to cater to your needs, it still offers excellent authentic pizza and salads that are made and ready in minutes. The pizzas aren't like Pizza Hut's either- they are thin crusted, fresh, and traditionally Italian with black spots on the crust from being in an oven-burning stove.
Walking into Punch for lunch is a fast and easy way to get some good tasting food- you walk in, place your order at the cash register, watch as they make your pizza and put it in tiled stove, then take it out in a matter of minutes, put on any last minute ingredients, and say your order number for you to come pick it up. Dinner is the same, but may involve waiting a couple minutes extra at the cash register. It can get busy on summer nights, with people eating outside and in.
There are all kinds of people- couples on dates, moms picking up dinner for the kids, younger groups of friends, and many families, sometimes with the kids still in their soccer uniforms about to go to a big game.
Most people order pizzas- toppings include an assortment of cheeses including Italian buffalo mozarella, herbs, olives, meats like prochuto and the normal pepperoni and sausage, fresh tomatoes, and many others- but the salads too are excellent and come with a special bread, still warm. I always get the punch salad with pine nuts, prochuto, and parmazon cheese on mixed greens with an excellent dressing. They have children's sized pizzas as well.
So next time you're on the run, by yourself or with any group of people, stop by for a quick pizza or salad to eat there or on your way to wherever else you may be going.

Lucia's is not well publicized or well heard of like other high-caliber restaurants but it is still able to hold its own by offering high quality food- all natural and organic foods are prevalent- from local farms cooked by excellent chefs for a reasonable price.
Brunch starts with an assortment of scones and muffins to choose from and starters including bacon, fresh fruit, potatoes, and salad. The entrées change every week with what foods are in season and usually include some kind of omelette, waffles, and meat. To finish off the meal, if you aren't already extremely satisfied with the good-sized portions, there is still dessert. Fruit tart anyone?
For dinner the meal starts out with a salad, daily soup, or other small plate and is followed by entrées that also change every week, including healthy and filling options. There is always some type meat or fish and vegetarian offerings.
The setting isn't scenic or extremely private, with many tables somehow squished into the smaller space, and the noise can get to be quite loud as the night goes on but the ambiance isn't lost. The waiters and waitresses, hosts and hostesses are all superbly nice and knowledgeable and the food is so good you can't help but feel well taken care of. In the evenings some people dress up, others scale it down a notch, but there is no one to be seen in jeans and a t-shirt. People come to treat themselves to a wholesome and tasty experience and want to look the part.
Service is good- reservations can be made in advance but if you can't find a table when you walk in the Wine Bar next door provides another resource from which you can order off their menu or the restaurant's. The food comes in a good amount of time and doesn't leave you waiting too long. And you can always keep yourself occupied by watching the waters and waitresses carrying plates of delicious food or, if you're lucky, the dessert tray.
