An experience in its own rite. Shopping at B&H Photo Video is quite fun. From helpful salespersons to watching what you just purchased dangling from the overhead conveyor belt on its way to the cashier. Their prices are a tad high compared to online, but knowing that you can walk back in should you need to return something is handy. They also develop pictures.

This little pizzeria run by Domenic DeMarco serves up the best pizza in all of NYC. Mr. DeMarco is an artist, the crust is simply fantastic, so thin, yet so tasty. The sauce is amazing. Watching him make the pizzas is quite entertaining too. He is a stubborn perfectionist, and the end result justifies it. The pizzas are incredibly delicious. With toppings ranging from traditional onions and peppers to sauteed artichoke, it's hard to choose. They don't deliver, but you can order take out or eat in, if you are lucky to find a spot. Be prepared to wait for the pizza, there's always going to be a crowd, but the pizza is worth the wait.

This little restaurant on the Upper West Side, has some of the best falafel in all of New York. Their falafel sandwiches are bursting with fillings, and the balls themselves are quite tasty with no peculiar oil smell that one encounters at other falafel restaurants. Their platter is a good deal, and is enough for one person. The pitas are warmed before serving, so they're nice and soft. The staff is incredibly friendly, always smiling, they'll remember you the next you visit.

Jackson Diner in Little India (74 Street in Jackson Heights), has become immensely popular over the years. Primarily famous for their North Indian fare, including having the best samosas in town, they also offer dosas and bhel. Their buffet lunch is quite popular, although lately their vegetarian selection has not been impressive; the non-vegetarian selection in buffet is quite good. They also offer dosas in buffet, which are incredibly soft and fluffy, do try them! Their black daal (ma ki daal) is quite good, as are their malai kofta, palaak paneer, and dum aloo.

Located in Curry Hill, this totally vegetarian restaurant features primarily South Indian cuisine, but they do also serve very good North Indian cuisine such as naans and vegetable dishes. Their sambar is by far the best in all of NYC, and their dosas, idlis, medu vadas, uttapams are all wonderful and tasty. They offer a very reasonably priced buffet lunch that features a good mix of North Indian food with South Indian items. The food is not too spicy and the customers include Indians and many non-Indians. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
