This little gem is tucked off Winslow Way, the main drag through downtown Bainbridge. It's on Madrone, just behind Blackbird Bakery. The owners, Kit and John are great. They've have created a welcoming space for knitters, crocheters, stitchers, tea-drinkers, and browsers of all types. They offer a great range of classes--I learned to knit there when I realized I'd been visiting the store pretty regularly as a non-knitter (to look at the luscious colors, to feel the various textures and weights, and to imagine what it would be like to be able to make something wearable) Also check out the oddballs and closeouts section in the back--usually 40% off, and I've made some great finds there.. If you have questions, or need help with something, weekdays are best: weekends tend to be very busy.

Nice selection of baked goods, good coffee. Special favorites: lemon poppyseed braid, almond-cherry luna, and thick slabs of toast with freezer jam. Especially good for those with allergies--this is one of the rare bakeries to offer both "regular" baked goods as well as a range of gluten-free products. Can be very busy, especially on weekend mornings, but catching up with neighbors is part of the fun. If you happen to be on the other end of the island, check out the BB outpost at Bay Hay & Feed.
