Owens 501 Diner on Fordham Boulevard is a pretty good little diner. There aren't that many diners down here, so it was nice to be reminded of my days living in New York, where I could go to a restaurant with my husband and one of us would get waffles while the other had a steak. I love the variety of diners, and Owens 501 Diner definitely has that.
That said, my patty melt was a little dry. The more expensive entrees looked pretty good, and most of the other patrons (many of whom seemed to be regulars) looked to be enjoying their meals.
I'd recommend this place to friends.
