I went in here a few times when I was going to buy a Volvo. I found the place depressing - from the dingy elevator you take to the showroom to the staff. There's just no life, no service. I couldn't get help when I wanted - nobody ever tried to sell me a car. How do they make a living? When I went to the auto show in NY the told me not to buy from here. I ended up buying from another deal over the phone - they seemed interested in doing business.

Zabar's just keeps going strong - it set the trend and is still the best around. Great selection, great prices - can't beat the nova anywhere (Sable's on the East Side is very close). Everything...

Everything you want is here - cheese, meat, prepared meals, bread, appliances, etc, etc. The food moves so fast it doesn't get stale. The prices are reasonable as well.

While the actual ice cream isn't the best it works well with all the great topping and all the fun at this place. You pick your ice cream flavor, toppings, mix-ins, etc. and your server works it...

Give them a tip and they sing (better yet don't give them the tip so they don't sing).

It's does a huge takeaway business so clearly the locals love it. The food is fresh, not too oily. Free soda with every main course.

This local wine store has some good selection but like most liquor stores in NYC it doesn't make the wine buying experience part of the enjoyment. A good selection of wine from around the world but the foucs is on the European and Califormia standards. Not much from South Africa or South America. The staff doesn't come across as people I'd really want to take a recommendation from.

This museum has been one of my favorites all of my life - I guess those great childhood memories of visiting the museum come through every time I take my kids here. It's still go the great dinosaur exhibits and so much more. While some exhibits may be a bit 70's and non-PC there is a lot that is very fresh and fun. Don't miss this place - even without kids.
