If you like your nature manicured and fenced in, this is the place. The Arboretum is a huge, well-kept park just 15 minutes from downtown DC. Rolling hills, several beautiful lawns, short nature trails, an amazing Banzai garden, and some views of the Anacostia make this park unique. This is an American arboretum, so you can drive through it, too, and just get out to snap a few photos. Occasional activities, such as Koi festivals, enliven the visitors center.
