This is a great place to come to whenever for whatever reason. While the water can be very cold it seems cleaner to swim here than over by alki. At night you can build a (city approved!) bonfire and watch the sun go down behind the Olympic's. This is seriously one of the best places to watch a sunset anywhere in the world. The waters here are relatively calm and there is not a lot of boat traffic close to shore which also makes it conducive for swimming. There is a place to buy beach appropriate snacks during the summer. When your friends and family come to Seattle to visit this would be the second place I would take them after a ferry ride to Bremerton. The people who come here seem pretty laid back and I have never had a problem at this beach/park. Come and enjoy!

Greenlake bar and grill is a nice little establishment to spend time in when you don't feel like making dinner. The happy hour here is quite comprehensive-you can get a grilled salmon burger for under three dollars and a bowl of soup or salad for under two dollars. They also have a sunset dinner option for around twelve dollars that contains soup or salad, an entrée, and dessert. One of the weeknights also has an all you can eat night for fish and chips. Overall the quality of the food is just okay. There is outdoor seating during the summer which is really nice because it is right across the street from Greenlake. The food served picks dishes from different regions of America-though nothing really stands out. They also have a nice drink list. The hot butter rum is quite good. Service is great and the ambiance is very cozy. Enjoy!

Billy Mchale's knows onions. One of its signature dishes is called the onion loaf. It comes in two sizes and tastes wonderful. While this restaurant is known mainly for its burgers, the kitchen is always willing to make something special for the vegetarian in your party. The food here is very hearty though slightly on the greasy side. Service is perfunctory to friendly depending on how busy they are. There are many heart attack friendly dishes served here such as the bacon wrapped prawns and the afore mentioned onion loaf. A long list of margarita's, beer and non alcoholic beverages are available. Dinner for one person costs around twelve dollars. Though they do have senior citizen specials and and lunch specials for around seven dollars.

That is what I felt like after I left Bret Chevrolet for the second time. The first time I dropped off my car, they diagnosed the problem and promised to fix it. When I picked up the car it turned out that they had installed the part incorrectly and had broken another part of my car. I also had a taillight that was out and asked them to fix this as well for my trouble. They said they would fix all of these things. After I picked up my car a second time, the taillight was still out and the other part they were supposed to fix was still broken-albeit in a different way this time. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason-ever.

Barney's has outposts in select cities throughout the US. The Seattle store, while small, carries items that are otherwise impossible to find in the pacific northwest. The jeans bar upstairs has one of the best selections of jeans I have seen in Seattle. The woman who works in the jeans section is very helpful and willing to give her opinion on what looks good on you. Another reason to shop here are the sales which are really amazing. There is also a mens clothing section, a shoe section, and cosmetics area. One thing I like about Barney's is they don't just carry the trendy labels but also brands you have never heard of-the buyer for this store really knows what they are doing. As you can probably guess from the tone of this post, clothes at Barney's can be very expensive but bargains can be had my friend if you are patient.

When one walks by Buff Joe's, a enticing, greasy smell hits you. One is uncertain whether to proceed. However, as generations of Evanston youngsters have done, one proceeds inside and order a full order of spicy wings. First fried, then mixed with Buff Joe's secret spicy sauce, a fresh batch of wings there are among the best food one can get in Evanston. The burgers and cheese fries are also great. An order of wings without fries is around 6 dollars.

On Main St., Evanston's depressing main street, Oceanique has quietly established itself as one of the premier dining destinations in town. Inside this petit establishment, diners can find a wonderful assortment of innovative appetizers and sophisticated main dishes. As the name of the restaurant suggests, the main attractions are French-inspired seafood dishes. Given that Chicago is in the middle of the country, Oceanique does a surprisingly fresh varieties of fish and shell-fish. The desserts are also wonderful. With a three-course meal, one should not expect to walk out without paying at least 50 dollars, even without wine.

Across from the depressing El train track in Evanston sits the relatively humble store-front of the Campagnola restaurant. The interior is comforting and spacious, but the menu is surprisingly interesting for this part of Evanston (the south). Beyond the usual assortment of handmade pastas, you can also get more hearty fares such as rack of lamb and grilled whole-fish. The wine list is reasonable and the wait staff is friendly. A dinner there, however, is likely to set you back around 20 dollars.

Who hasn't played at the Showbox? This northwest favorite has been packing in the crowds for as long as I can remember to hear just about any band that matters. Famous, infamous, and unknown Showbox invites everyone in for a party every night of the week. While the main genre you can listen to here is rock they have been known to have other types of music available at this club. Ticket prices are all over the place depending on the show. There is a bar here that sometimes serves snack food.
