My parents are thrilled that I shop here because all of the clothes are made in America. It makes them remember a bygone era when many items for sale were made here. I do have to say that clothes I purchase here tend to not fall apart whereas clothes I have purchased that are made elsewhere (like China) tend to fall apart in a matter of weeks. American Apparel is more expensive than your local Old Navy but is well worth it. They carry a couple dozen different styles for t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc in a number of different colors. The sales staff is always unobtrusive and friendly. Their online store is great too-I say pay a little more for quality, your wallet thank you in the long run.

Vitamin Shoppe, while a nationwide chain did not have an outpost in Seattle until recently. There new store, located in Tukwila by Southcenter Mall, has all the vitaminshoppe prerequisites. Smiling employees who try to act like they have a degree in medicine but don't and a great supply of vitamins, oils, muscle building formulas, etc that may or may not help you. There is a wide selection of brands for each type of vitamin and the discounts are decent. They also have a buyers club that will give you money back once you have spent one hundred dollars. If you are living in Seattle I would stick with Seattle Super Supplements but if you are in the south end stop by Vitamin Shoppe.

Revolution Coffee recently opened up right off of Greenlake and it is often seems empty. The only reason for this that I could think of is their location-you must walk past a Starbucks and up the street to get there. It is worth the extra block trek though because Revolution serves Cafe Vita coffee and a tasty assortment of snacks. The atmosphere inside reminds me of what a real coffeehouse used to look like in Seattle. Don't get me wrong-this is no Last Exit, but it is a step away from Starbucks which to me is very important.

This place is great if you can get a seat. One tip-do not attempt to eat here on the weekends go late (around 10 or so) on a week night to get a seat. Mole is the specialty food here and is blended into many of the dishes. The ingredients are very fresh and and sometimes include surprising ingredients, like curry in the Empanadas. Seating is European style and the service is efficient and not overly friendly. Dinner will cost around 10 to 12 dollars a person.

The Bal Mar in Ballard represents a direction that I hope bars will not choose to take. Seating is incredibly uncomfortable and the decor somewhat dated. The cocktail list does look promising but is somewhat expensive. For example, the Molotov Cocktail is a very intriguing offering that I have not seen anywhere else in Seattle. Happy hour features Pacific Northwest cuisine with a twist and french fries served with banana ketchup! I would really like to like this place but because of the decor I just can't. Service here is great and pool tables are available upstairs.

Anthropologie, with locations (in this area at least) downtown and U Village, is where you shop if you like shopping at certain outdoor markets in Europe. Except, in this case the stalls would all be selling the same lacy knockoffs at a price marked up at least 500 percent. Shopping here reminds me of my great aunt's house with all its frilly gewgaws and precious looking furnishings. The clothes are not all like this thankfully. But many of the clothes here look great until you try them on and realize that they are shoddily made. Service is unobtrusive and friendly.

Feierabend, down the street from REI, is a welcome addition to the Seattle pub scene. Open for lunch and dinner, this pub makes Germany (or at least some of its food) feel within reach. The curry fries were worth the trip alone. Crisp fries served with ketchup tinged with curry washed down with a dark German beer is an almost perfect confluence of food and drink. The schnitzel is one of the best in the city-though the taste also seems to be influenced by curry. Happy hour, featuring big pretzels and fried pickle's, and lots of beer would be a welcome addition to anyone's day. Service and ambiance overall are great though I would not recommend going here whenever a private party is taking place. While they do have an area set aside for the party my group felt extremely crowded as the party pushed out of its boundaries.

While Sequoia is far from the best restaurant in DC it does have one thing many other restaurants don't-a view, of sorts. Situated alongside the Potomac, Sequoia is a great place to go in the summer. You can hang out on the patio with a drink in your hand and relax. The American food served here is okay-neither appalling or especially great. On a scale of one to ten I would give the overall quality of food a six or seven. This is a great place to go to on a date or to leave with a date. Dinner will cost around twenty dollars a person. Service is very unobtrusive and gracious.

Chateau Ste. Michelle winery tours are perfect for host and guest alike. The guest gets to do something authentic to the nouveau northwest and the host gets to drink away his migraine. Seriously though, the tours here are short, the ground are stunningly beautiful, and you get to drink at the end. This winery's wines often win major prizes around the world and are a join to drink. Premium and private wine tastings are also available for a price. There is of course also a store on site so you can buy aforementioned wines for a slightly cheaper price than the store.

One of my favorite spots in Seattle to hang out at is the happy hour at Campagne. The late night happy hour is from 10 to 12AM and is rarely crowded. Small plats are available and include decadent items such as pate and french fries cooked in duck fat. Customer service is unobtrusive and the atmosphere can almost make you feel like you are no longer in Seattle. Campagne is also open for dinner and lunch and has a sister restaurant underneath that serves a mean French brunch as well as a slightly less expensive rendition of dinner and lunch.
