My husband and I stopped in to Blackstone Tap on a Thursday evening (our regular date night) for dinner and drinks. The atmosphere was welcoming - I liked the dark walls, sophisticated pendant lights over the bar, and the quality wooden bar stools. The tables were a bit disorganized, but I like that patrons are welcome to move them around to accommodate their gathering. The tap selection was good. I think there were about 10 beers on tap, and there was a very large selection of bottled beers (> 30). My disappointment came when it was time to order food and we discovered that they only had fried appetizers. We ordered some poppers and some pizza from a place across the street (at the waitress' suggestion).
I like this place, but in my opinion they are killing their chances at success by not serving real food. I am WAY less likely to return because I typically go out for dinner, not just drinks.

I have been seeing Dr. Labonte for a couple of years now. She is the best doctor I've ever had. She's friendly, non-judgmental, thorough, and very accessible. Her office is full of friendly and competent staff. I've recommended her to several friends already. If she's taking new patients and you need a doctor, call her first.

This is a great full-service music shop. They have lessons in the basement, an in-house guitar repair shop, and lots of guitars, keyboards, and music books for sale. This is where I learned to play guitar. One of the great things about this music store is that they have a rent-to-own program where you make a downpayment, then pay a certain amount every month until you've paid for the instrument. That way, if you realize you really don't like playing a certain instrument, you haven't paid for the whole thing.

This little restaurant has some of the best Thai food I've ever had. My favorite is the Spicy Pad Thai, a very unique take on the traditional Thai dish. The ambiance is a little lacking and the staff are pretty rude, though I think they mean well. They try to get you in and out pretty fast during lunch, so it's a good place to go if you work in the area.

This pub is famous for its extensive beer selection - they have about 70 beers on tap. I go there all the time and they always have something new that I haven't tried. The menu is a little boring. They have standard pub food with not much variation. They do have specials, but they're only entrees. I like it when I can get an unusual or different sandwich every once in awhile.

By far, the best sandwich shop I've ever been to in Worcester. The sandwiches are HUGE and the prices are very reasonable. They have good salads and pizzas, too, but the sandwiches are where it's at. Some of my favorites include the Turkey Club (on huge Italian loaf), the Rockin' Moroccan (complete with curly fries stuffed in the wrap), and the Chicken Parmesan. Give this place a try, and you'll never go to the chain sub shops again.

This is the best place to get seafood in Worcester. The Sole Proprietor is upscale, but don't feel afraid to show up in jeans. They have the standard seafood entrees, but they also have some very inventive variations. If you like sushi, you'll love theirs - try the Tuna Firecracker. Look for some good drinks and nice beer selection, too.

This Japanese restaurant specializes in Tepanyaki - where trained chefs cook food at your table on a hibachi grill. Each meal is served with onion soup, rice (fried or steamed), grilled vegetables (onions, zucchini, and squash), and shrimp. That's all in addition to your main entree. The chefs are very friendly, but I've found the staff to be lacking a bit in that department. It's a good place to get this kind of food, though, so I put up with it.

This brew pub is one of my all-time favorites. They have about 30 taps of tasty micro brews, including some offerings in the cask. If that wasn't enough, they have an awesome menu of unique salads, wings, burgers, and entrées. Look for the One-Eyed Bacon Burger and the Hellfire wings, the hottest and most flavorful wings I've ever had. A surprising perk for a brew pub - they have free wireless available to all patrons.

This is combination restaurant and bar. The restaurant always has a long list of specials (they usually number more than the regular menu items). The beer selection, however, is a bit lacking. They usually have the same four beers on tap. On Thursday nights they have a trivia night. The entry fee is cheap, and it's a good way to spend an evening.
