Spencer's Fresh Markets has a lot of fresh produce and very good meat. It is alll fresh and most of it is organic. The one big probem I have with Spencer's Fresh Markets is its prices. Everything in the store is way overpriced. If you are looking for fresh produce or great meat just go to Whole Foods. Yes, they are more expensive than Whole Foods!!! Its a nice clean store but honestly way overpriced.

Sharkees is known as the dirty college bar in Santa Barbara. Thursday night is college night downtown and the bars are runnover by 20-23 year olds. Sharkees has great drink specials ($1 well drinks) and they of course have the infamous "bucket" which is a large bucket filled with different fruit juices and different alcohols. There are about 5 different types of buckets, but be careful, "bucket nights" can get a little crazy. Sharkees is known for having the swimming mermaid behind the bar on thursdays and saturdays. Many of my friends have swam and it is a great job and entertaining to watch! Good travels!

Maeda Restaurant is the best value for sushi in Santa Barbara. You are not going to find cheap sushi in this town. You can get all you can eat sushi at Maeda (they switch up the night of the week so call ahead and see what night they are having this special) for $22. While that might sound like a lot if you eat 3 rolls that cost $8 each you have already saved $2. The catch is you must eat everything you order. If you do not finish what you order you must pay per piece. So just make sure to bring your appetite. The sushi is great and the fish is fresh and delicious!

The Armand Hammer Museum is a great little museum located bu the UCLA campus. It has both a permenant collection and also several roatating collections. Thier permenant collection is heavily weighted towards impressionist painting including several Van Gogh's. The rotating collection is always something unique. The museum is small enough that you could visit every exhibit in one day and not worry about missing anything. Admission is free if you have a student ID and I believe during summer admission is free as well. If you are in the area and have any inkling towards an interest in art, I would definitely reccomend checking out the Armand Hammer Museum .

The La Brea tar pits are a must visit of you are in the Los Angelas area. Though do not plan on spending much more than an hour total (that includes inside the museum). The outside is just that, a tar pit. They have several "fossils" outside showing what animals used to live in the area and it is exciting for about 5 minutes (if that long). You should definitely take a visit inside to the museum. While not big, it is very interesting and informative. Children and anyone interetsed in history will have a blast. Overall this is a great place to visit, just dont plan to spend too long!

The California Science Center does have a good location, being right by USC (I know, not always considered to be the best area but the California Science Center is safe). There are many other touristy things to do in the area. The science center itself has an array of exhibits which vary so make sure to call ahead of time to see what is currently on display. They always have a dearth of hands on exhibits which children love. The museum is a great place for kids, and while it is no Smithsonian (sorry, Im from Washington, DC) it is a great place to spend a couple of hours with kids. Fun, entertainment, and educational!!

Pascucci is amazing! It is worth going to Pascucci just for the bread alone! The atmosphere is great, it is a great spot for a casual buisness lunch or even a romantic dinner. Pascucci for lunch cannot be beat. You can get one of thier many paninnis for about $7 or $8. Where else on State Street can you sit out on a patio overlooking the street and eat for less than $10. Their pasta is amazing and thier pizza is ok (not the greatest). Overall this place is the best value in Santa Barbara. If your lookign for quality food at a budget price Pascucci is the place!

Akbar Restaurant is the best Indian food in columbia. Well except at Nik jayram's house but that not exactly a public resturant. Actually as far as I know Akbar Restaurant is the only Indian resturant in Columbia...but hey. Actually it is a very nice resturant and would be conducive to anything from a buisness meeting to a first date spot, or a place to take the whoile family. The food is very good and I would highly reccomend if your in the mood for Indian and can't get that pesky invite to Nik's house...head over to Akbar Restaurant.

The Anne Arundel Golf Park is a fairly nice facility with an intersting twist. The golf park itself is two levels. There is a chipping and putting green on the groud level along with a mini golf course and a few spots to drive golf balls out onto the driving range. The whole upper floor is for the driving range. The prices are normal and you can rent clubs from the golf park, last time I was there they did not charge for renting clubs to drive balls. The interetsing thing about Anne Arundel Golf Park is that it is right next to BWI so if you are on the upper level you can drive gold balls as planes are taking off and landing directly above your head!

All of my friends for all of thier special occasions, whether it be ab bar mitzvah, a wedding or a very important birthday ALWAYS get thier cake from J P's Kake Korner. It is right off route one so its great locatioj but even if they were out in Western Maryland I would reccomend going to JP's. Their cake or "kake" is simply the best around. They do great designer cakes and will work with you to make sure you are happy. The do a great job with apperance, taste and texture. i highly reccomend JP's Kake Korner!!
