If you open a bloomies card you also get an additional 15% off. You can also always use any extra money for clothes or shoes.

Riverdale Farm is my favorite fruit and vegetable store in Riverdale. I even like it better than Fairway's produce. Their produce is always fresh, the store is clean, and the staff helpful. You can even call them on the phone, and they will pick out your fruits and veggies and then deliver it. They are also very reasonably priced and honest.

This has always been my favorite museum. I especially love the planetarium, in which they have a state of the art Zeiss Star Projector. Sometimes, they have educational programs in the dome in which you can learn about the night sky and constellations. The space shows, and the music show are also fabulous. Passport to the Universe is a overview of basic astronomy in which you travel through a really cool black hole.. The Search for Life, narrated by Harrison Ford, is more educational and in depth.

The New York Botanical Garden is a beautiful, peaceful haven in the Bronx. If you are a nature lover you will be amazed by their gardens, flowers, trees and collections. It is a very large garden so wear comfortable walking shoes. It's a great place to enjoy nature, read a book and relax. They also have a family garden where they plant tons of vegetables, fruits and herbs. If you have kids you can also visit the children's garden. They also have a farmers market on Wednesdays in the summer.

This museum is perfect for children 7&under. All the exhibits are hands-on, and educational. The museum's talented educators offer many workshops throughout the day, such as art, media, sing-alongs, and storytelling. It is less crowded during the week, but on the weekends, there are always really great performances. It is also a very popular place to have birthday parties.

I first started going to Kim Nails from a recommendation from my very selective upper east side mother-in-law. After my first visit to Kim, I will never go anywhere else for a wax. I live in the Bronx, and make sure to stop by whenever I am in the city. As I have been to many spas and salons in the city, Kim is really the best. They also give a great pedicure with a very long (at least 15 min) foot massage, as well as a back massage at the end of the visit. Everyone I send there loves it.

I really trust Our Cleaners with my favorite and expensive clothing. I sent an expensive dress that had many old stains, and I thought was beyond hope. They got out all the stains and have continued to do so since. They do all their cleaning on the premises so you know your clothes won't get lost. The staff is also very nice, friendly and honest. They even sent us presents for the holidays, I highly recommend them. Their pick-up and drop-off service is also very relaible.
