Dougie's BBQ is well known for their wingsand fire poppers. Their food is tasty, but will propably leave you with some heartburn due to the greasy nature of the food. The lines can sometime be long, and the service isn't great. Sometimes, you will see a roach as well. Don't let that stop you as this is still one of the most popular kosher restaurants in NYC.

Well known for their chopped liver, cole slaw and hot dogs, Second Avenue Deli is a new york institution. The food is consistently good, fresh and authentic. The wait can sometimes be long, however, once you are seated, the service is very efficient and fast. They also offer a take-out which can also have long lines. It is well worth the wait.

There is much debate over the best pie in the city. Lombardi's is up there. My personal favorite is their pizza with olives. They use Calamatta olives rather than those crappy black olives you get at most pizza joints. The restaurant is an old school throw back pizza joint--nothing to write home about but you can always count on getting a great pie.

Yuki is the perfect combination for a neighborhood Japanese sushi place. Friendly and affordable. For the price, the fish is very good. A cut below the real players but much better than the typical neighborhood joints. Service is always good and with a smile for eat in or for take out. Be prepared to wait on peak nights and hours. Probably the best sushi above west 90th street

When Riverdale Gardens opened, it was a breath of fresh air--finally a funky place in Riverdale to get some dinner. While at times it has fullfilled its promise, there are times when it has been quite uneven. The food and service at times is very good and at others, rather blase. One plus is that it has a nice (if not relatively expensive for the neighborhood brunch). Overall I would call it a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Also, it has a lovely outdoor garden--hence the name.

Gennaro has been a favorite of mine sore some time. The food is consistently good and it has a neighborhood feel to it. Also, it won't cost you an arm and a leg. The average pasta entre is about $11 and most of the other entres are under $20. The restaurant can get crowded and they don't take reservations so you may wait at peak hours. The only real negative is the menu hasn't really changed since it opened and the specials are rarely very daring, but if you want solid italian it is the place to go.

Bra Smith has a great selection of bras, lingerie, bathing suits, and other intimate apparel. The staff is highly knowledgeable and will fit you in the bras that are perfect for you. They have a tailor on the premises and will fix anything to your liking. The items are expensive, but well worth it. I highly reommend it.
