The pioneer has a totally unique roster of movies, not the standard list of "art house" movies. They often try to feature New York relevant films and/or films directed by New Yorkers. Every saturday, they have midnight movies that are usually creepy or something. For a long time they just played Donnie Darko every weekend, but now they mix it up a bit more.
