If you visit DC, you should stay in a B&B. This particular inn is in the heart of one of the most eclectic neighborhoods. It's surrounded by dozens of delicious cafe restaurants and unique shops. It's an easy walk to the Metro, and anywhere in the DC area. Plus it's quiet! We got a room on the top floors, which was more like an apartment. It had a living area, bedroom, and bathroom, all in Victorian style. Breakfast was in a common kitchen across the street, and was hot and delicious. And you can get free cookies and tea anytime!

My husband and I are big fans of the Bed and Breakfast experience, and this is the best of the best. The Venice Beach house is close to the beach, yet hidden on a small alley. The home is absolutely beautiful, covered in vines, with lush gardens. We stayed in the Olympic Suite, which was so beautiful we didn't want to leave! The room is huge, it has a 2 person steam shower, it's just unbelievable. We could hear the ocean through our open windows. Even the soap at this B&B is first rate-it smells like freshly mowed grass! Breakfast is exquisite and delicious. You must stay here if you are visiting Venice Beach!

Bonnie and Cy's has been a Fremont establishment for as long as I can remember. Their food is honest -and they charge hometown prices. They have a rather large dining room, and feature weekend specials that are a great deal. The specials can be found ahead of time in the newspaper. The food is very American cuisine, nothing fancy here.

It's hard to categorize this place! It's a farm, with a store and a restaurant! My kids love to stop here on the way home from my in-laws. The food is down-home cooking and it's inexpensive. We always finish off our meal with ice cream, made right on the farm. My kids love to troll around the farm, looking at the animals. Fall is when this place really kicks into gear, with pumpkin picking, a corn maze and more. They have a mini-golf course, they do birthday parties, school tours, a coffee bar-and more. You can spend hours here!

Whenever friends of mine throw a wedding or bridal shower, they order cakes and pastries from the Bonbonerie. And then we sit around for an hour afterward, mmm and ahhhing over how good they taste. The creations that come out of this pastry shop are so pretty, first of all, you won't want to actually eat them! But when you do, the taste will be creamy and light, and rich, and wonderful, and you'll wonder how many hours you'll need to spend on the treadmill the next day as you head for that second helping. The prices are of course, much higher than grocery store bakeries, but this is high-end stuff and so worth it!

If you drive too fast down Jefferson, you'll miss this restaurant. It's located right along the road but because there are no other restaurants nearby, you can easily miss it! The atmosphere is casual and the food is completely home cooked Tex Mex fare. The tortilla chips are too die for! Their salsa is to Die For! Their guacamole... well, you get the picture. They have a wide variety of items on the menu-I suggest the Steak Fajitas and an ice cold draft beer. My only complaint-their parking lot is way too small!

If you crave the dining atmosphere of the early 1900's, this is place. The food is uniquely American fancy cuisine, served on china with cloth napkins and tablecloths. The restaurant itself is an old inn, with a colonial feel. It's filled with antiques and features creaky wooden floors. The food is wonderful, and the chef prepares daily specials which his servers highly recommend. There are many neat places to dine within the restaurant-a main dining room, a more intimate one on the upper floor, and a beautiful, sunny porch perfect for brunch. It's a pricey restaurant but provides a unique experience!

The Montgomery Inn is a must-stop on your tour of Cincinnati! They serve by far, the best ribs IN THE WORLD! I love their location by the Cincinnati River-the view is heavenly. They also have a rustic old restaurant in Montgomery with a wonderful atmosphere. Most of the food they serve is drenched in their famous sauce. They also serve fantastic desserts! Be sure to pick up a bottle of their sauce on the way out. Servers are friendly and efficient. The bar on the upper level of the river location is a great place to hang out while you wait for a table to open up. And if you go on a weekend evening, you'll be waiting awhile! I once waited 2.5 hours!

The Rookwood Pottery restaurant is located in the old Rookwood Pottery barn. You can eat right in the old kilns. The place is rustic and is decorated with many pieces of pottery works. You can also buy some of the pottery on your way out! I found the food at this restaurant to be middle-of-the-road. Not fantastic, but not bad either. It is pretty pricey and although the atmosphere is casual, the service is more elegant. It's a neat place to take out of town visitors to enjoy a quiet and unique dining experience.

I cannot for the life of me remember life before Penzey's. This store is truly unique. They stock literally hundreds of spices from all around the world. The owners seek out new and interesting combinations and they work to pick the best quality ingredients possible. A friend of the family introduced us to their line of spices on vacation a few years ago and I have been hooked ever since. They have the most delicious salad dressing mixes, particularly the peppercorn Ranch, and their Vietnamese Cinnamon will make you turn your nose up at grocery store versions forever! It is pricey, but a little bit goes a long way and it's so worth it!
