We went to State College, PA this past weekend for a wedding. Though we just stopped going to grad school two years ago, State College is ever changing. One thing that can be counted on, trip after trip is The Waffle Shop. We are partial to the original location on Atherton. They have remodelled a bit but the diner/coffee shop atmosphere is still deadon. Offering delicious breakfast foods but also great sandwiches, it's always hard to pick one thing! i went for a cinnamon roll (hot, fresh very very gooey and buttery) and a tuna melt (served with coleslaw and a pickle--4.45!!! i always add fries and then can't eat everything!) . hubby got the iowa corn pancakes (a favorite of his) and a side of sausage. we skipped the coffee and home squeezed orange juice this time, but they are always great.
prices are VERY reasonable, but they don't take plastic..so remember your cash and ENJOY!
