Eclectic market with an excellent deli

  Jennifer W., Tuesday, August 16, 2005
This review is for: Eatzi's Market & Bakery
If you're into some offbeat, unusual food, Eatzi's is a good place to find it. In addition to their great deli sandwiches and salads, they carry a large variety of fresh fruits, fish, cheese, wines, and bakery goods. Shopping here is a lot more fun than at your average Krogers or Albertsons. In order to get anywhere in the store you have to not only squeeze past the displays, which are always piled high with great stuff, but also the other patrons. For its popularity the store is relatively small and occasionally it's a relief to get outside again where you feel you can breath. If you aren't local it's also kind of a pain to get to. It takes a long time to make your way through the traffic lights on Oak Lawn, and during rush hour it's probably more trouble than it's worth. The prices also can be high, but it's worth it for the freshness and quality.
