I struggle with depression and anger, and have had problems finding a doctor because of the way the insurance is set up. Many psychologists aren't taking new patients. When I called her office I was told that I she had space and would be able to see me the next month, but the next day her office called back and told me that she was unwilling to take me on as a patient, with no other explanation. Apparently run-of-the-mill depression isn't interesting enough for her. Whatever, doc.

Sunny's is in the 24 Hour Fitness on Arbrook. You don't have to be a member to try them out. We decided to make an appointment because it was so convienant to stop in after a workout. They were great about being flexible in their scheduling so that my husband and I could get in at the same time.
Part of the reason I enjoy massage so much is for the ambiance, so this was only okay for me. It was a little too hard, but she was good about easing up when I asked her to. We will probably go back here because the gym has a daycare center, so it's really nice to be able to drop our son off for half an hour.
Their prices were a little below average.

This park is great for families with younger children. The admission is cheap and the pool is designed exclusively for toddlers, so you don't have to worry about your baby being run over by a rambunctious big kid.
It has a big playground in the middle of the pool that has tunnels, slides, and water guns. There is also a water mushroom off to one side. The pool is shallow around the edges and gets gradually deeper towards the center so it's appropriate for children who aren't sure of themselves in the water. There are picnic tables in the fence. Just outside of the pool is a playground, so Howard Moore is a great place to spend a long, lazy summer day.
The only drawback is that the hours in the summer are too limited. In August, the hottest time of the year, they went to weekends only to try to conserve water. They also close when school starts back up, which is ridiculous because the pool isn't designed for school age children anyway.

I've been told that this used to be THE mall to go to, but it's obviously been a long time. I feel sorry for the stores that are still struggling to hold on. The most vital part of the mall is the food court, and even that has hardly any choices.
There is a movie theater that has cheap admission. My father in law likes it because there is never anyone there and you can always get a good seat, but there is a funky kind of smell that I find too distracting. I think they have a water leak that is in desperate need of fixing. It would be a perfect place to take an infant to see a movie, though, there isn't anybody else to disturb.
It may be time to just call it a day and knock this place down to make way for something new.

The Dallas museum has a great collection. Whenever I'm feeling like the grind is getting me down I head over there for a couple of hours. They have enough diversity in their permanent collection that there's bound to be something for everyone.
The building is well designed. It's open enough that you can really get involved with the paintings and sculptures, but still dignified.
Their rotating exhibits are impressive and varied. They also have wonderful ongoing events, such as Late Nights, summer art camp, and many programs for families.
I just wish general admission wasn't so expensive. I've been to cities that have museums that are almost as nice but are free. There are nights, however, when the admission fees are waived.

The aquarium is associated with the Dallas zoo. If you've spent the day at the zoo and want to get out of the sun or if you're downtown to do something else it's a distracting half hour or so. It costs $3 for non-members to get in, so the price is certainly right.
The facility is old and not particularly well maintained. They do have some gorgeous fish but the tanks aren't very exciting and there aren't very many of them. We thought we were in the atrium but it turned out that was the entire display. Right now they have an exhibit of sea horses which is really fun. It's too bad that they don't have more of those kind of thing.

I've gotten to the point in my life where my time is starting to become a little more precious than my money, so Flagship was a great find. We had been taking our cars to a self wash but that was taking time, money, and it was never done as well as it could be.
Flagship has different levels of service, from a basic wash on up to a detailing. The facility is big so there is never much of a wait. The price is reasonable and they accept competitor coupons, a big plus considering that there's a couple of washes around Arlington that are constantly putting them out. It's done quickly and I've always been pleased with the work.

When I moved to Arlington from DC I had exactly one day to look at houses, and if it wasn't for Tifany I might still be living in a cardboard box under a freeway. I told her in a phone conversation what I was looking for, and she worked a marathon few day to find us exactly the kind of house that we were looking for.
She's lived in Arlington all of her life so she knows the area and once she gets to know you has a good sense of what's going to work or not. We saw 9 or 10 houses in the one day I had to look, and she could walk through the front door and tell you if it was going to work or not. She was right on every time.
Once we decided on a house she worked long into the night to get the deal set up. She bulled through one problem or another. I flew back to DC the next morning, contract in hand. She's a hard worker and hungry to get ahead, perfect qualities in a Realtor.

After spending time in Best Buy, Circuit City and Fry's, it's relaxing to go into Ultimate Electronics. It has a posh interior, all marble and plush carpeting. Their displays are set up like you're strolling through an art gallery -- the little cameras and stereos are all sitting an appropriate distance away from each other, each in its own pool of light.
The upscale experience, however, isn't worth it when you can get the same thing just down the street for maybe half the price. The level of service is high -- you get your own personal guy trailing you around the store -- and they do have some very nice stuff, but in the end it is just a camera that is going to function the same no matter how much time it spent in its own little spotlight.

It's easy to say that having a new baby is exhausting, but you don't really understand what it's like until you've actually gone through it yourself. Besides the exhaustion and pain of those first few weeks there's guilt associated with almost everything you do, especially feeding issues.
The staff at the breastfeeding resource center are invaluable for a woman who is having problems. They are full of good advice and they really believe in it, just the right kind of encouragement for someone who's frustration is beginning to overwhelm her commitment.
It's also a good place to get advice on pumps, bras, pillows, and all the other peripheral things that can make life easier for an nursing mother. You can also rent industrial grade pumps, almost a necessity for someone having supply issues.
