For UCLA students and anyone living in Westwood, this is a great place to hang out. It's open early in the morning so you can get coffee on the way to class or work. It's open late, so you can get something to eat or drink while you're on campus late. They also adjust their hours for finals week, anticipating that students will be on campus later hours than usual. In the evenings they also have concerts and speakers that you can watch. A lot of people study there, but I find it too noisy to do anything.

You can NOT beat Diddy Riese for dessert. Especially if you want it late at night. Diddy Riese is usually open until 1am. And you are definitely in luck if you want it cheap. You can get cookies for very cheap (I'm not sure the exact cost) or you can get an ice cream cookie sandwich for $1. On weekends the line is usually long when it gets close to closing time, though. There is not very much space inside the restaraunt itself, so it can get pretty crowded and confusing, and the line is out the door and down the street, but it moves quickly and you really can't beat CHEAP.
