...and I am very ambivalent about the building. For undergraduates, it is akin to an :off-campus" dormitory, but right in the center of campus. The maintanence repairs are normally in good time, but I have had repetitive problems.
Also, the lack of choices for cable/satellite makes living in the building more expensive than it needs to be.
They are currently changing windows, but ran into a big problem that is keeping my apartment very cold.
But the staff is helpful, and the neighbors are friendly

The Washington Law and Professional Books store on G Street has always had a helpful staff to help find law books for school. As an undergraduate studying different constitutional law, I was able to use this book store to find specific cases and for good study guides. I have heard similar things from GW law students. The coffee shop next store is also a nice addition

I have been using this place for a while, so I was surprised when I brought in several items taht they came back without a real thorough clean (a few small stains remained). Additionally, creases appeared in random places, making for an awkward lay on my body. I was very disappointed, and the creasing was nothing new. I will not be using this place again

Although you will more than likely be seen by a Nurse Practitioner, the accuracy and referrals of SHS are very strong. Affiliated with The George Washington U., this Service offers medical attention at a reasonable price. If necessary, a doctor on staff will be brought in, or one might receive a referral to the hospital. However, more often than not, SHS will be your first and last stop.

I had to average the school and the administration...
The School: The professors are fantastic, and very tied into Washington politics, a plus for any Poli Sci major. The students, though you are bound to find a few bad seeds, are generally engaging and well involved in the workings of the city- from internships on the Hill, to waiters at local eateries. The dorms are great (but over priced), the off-campus accomadations are also fantastic
The admin.: Here it is you will occasionally find a good seed. One story suggests the Unviersity President said, "GW is a business with a mix of real estate, athletics, theater and publications with some academics mixed in".... and you better believe that all the red tape and the price of the university makes you believe it.
I love the school and the people, but the school's adminsitration can drive someone crazy

Two years ago I would have given this place a perfect score. The pizza is delicious. The food is fantastic. The service is tops. But they recently stopped serving pizza by the slice at this branch. I know Howard Beach La Villa (the original) still offers pizza by the slice, but their dishes aren't the same. I am not sure about the Park Slope Branch.
The Mill Basin La Villa still serves great pizza, only now it is only by the pie (brick oven pizza). The service is still tops. But, they upped their prices during the NY blackout which really bothered me. They still charge for delivery, and that money doesn't go to the delivery guy (if it did, he'd be banking with all the delivery they do), and they still charge for refills. I just can't help but think this place is trying to take every possible penny. And he can get away with it, so he does.
But when all is said and done, the food is good, the ambiance is nice, and it is one of the two main neighborhood eateries.
