I finally got to go to Le Bec Fin, and I'm feeling ambivalent about it. As someone who's never been to a fine dining french restaurant before, I'm not sure if I'm the intended audience of this place. First, the food, while beautiful to look at was not that wonderful. Second, the sheer volume of silverware was confusing. Third, the constant hovering of tuxedo-clad waitstaff was uncomfortable and intimidating. I never relaxed once during my meal. The dessert cart was lovely, so that's a good thing. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't be going back. I'm just not highbrow enough, I think
