Pho Hoa Ky Restaurant has been in business for well over a decade now, and with good reason; or rather, great reasons. It's been voted as the best Vietnamese and pho place by multiple critics, and declared the Best Pho Selection by Best of the Bay 2003. And if you do not like the opinions of food critics, well, I'm a regular guy who eats dines like any average Joe, and I must say, Pho Hoa Ky is really good.
With a ton of different selections available, it'll be hard to pick out just one, two or a few things to try. Allow me to recommend what they're famous for - their pho, made with broth, rice noodles, and your choice of meat (or something else if you're a vegetarian), topped with fresh ingredients such as basil, lime, and bean sprouts.
Your wallet will be as thankful as your mouth. Very, very reasonable prices (less than $6 for some dishes) will leave you satisfied in every way possible. And their service will very good as well. Best Vietnamese restaurant in my opinion. Oh, and if possible, visit them on Sundays, because their best chef only works one day a week.

What's more, there are tons of different types of fabrics to choose from, and even fabrics that come in hard to find and are not not as often sold colors will be available for your picking. The only problem is that some of the fabric may not be of the utmost highest quality, so it may be a good idea to be a bit cautious about what you buy.

On the edge of San Francisco's Japan Town lies Turbo Planet Cd, a very, very small, independent store that sells Korean CDs, DVDs, VCDs, posters, cassette tapes, and Korean magazines. Although some of the items may be a bit pricey compared to online stores like YesAsia.com, they carry a lot of items that are not available at most other places. Out-of-print, discontinued, and rare items may be found at Turbo Planet Cd. The only problem my friends and I ran into is that two of the employees' English isn't the best. They are, however, very, very nice (they have given my friends and me posters and such for free on two different occasions!).

I have been to House of Siam several times now, once for my birthday, once for another special occasion, and once for a casual lunch. All three times, I have received really good service, and the food have been delicious every single time. Their curry is perhaps the best Thai curry I have ever tried (try both their red and green curries), and their Pineapple Fried Rice is served inside half of a real pineapple. The decor is really nice, featuring traditional Thai decorations. There is even one long table built for large parties who would like to eat their meals while sitting on the floor - in comfort, of course. My only complaint is that House of Siam is a bit pricer than most Thai restaurants I have been to.

Meng Trading Co. carries most of the newest Asian movies and music, especially those that are coming out of Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Korea, and Japan. Although the store is small, they seem to carry more than the space they have, and all for decent to good prices. And unlike many other Asian media entertainment stores in San Francisco's Chinatown, everything that Meng Trading Co. carries are authentic copies.

Valencia Whole Foods feature fresh organic fruits and vegetables, some of which are really hard to find at stores like Safeway and Cala Foods. They also have nuts and grains that are reasonably-priced. Their deli is very popular to people in the area because of the many different types of sandwiches and dishes they make, such as tofu and hummus sandwiches. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.
