I have had all my cars insured with Tim Mackey. His service staff is excellent and always ready to lend a hand. I have always had smooth transitions from getting my insurance placed from my old car to a new one.
He is so well-respect and well renonwned that when I purchased a new Lexus, the dealer's finance officer asked me who I would insure it through since he wanted to verify I already had insurance. When I said Tim Mackey, he already knew his phone number by heart.
Another time, my loan company kept troubling me about the dates from when I purchased the car and if it was covered with insurance or not. Usually you have 30 days between vehicles. One call to Mackey's office got it taken care of and them off my back.
He is the premier insurance agent in the northwest suburbs.

My cousin purchased a used BMW from Patrick and thought he got a good deal. He was raving about their service so I decided to take my 540i there for its next service and oil change.
They did a horrendous job. When they registered me, they were asking why I didn't buy it from Patrick. Then they said it will be thirty minutes but it took almost 2 hours. Then they didn't wash it as they do for all others and I had to wait further. The attendent was like 'oh, I didn't know." It said right there that the service includes car wash with. Then I went home and noticed smoke coming from the engine. I checked...and the person forgot to put the cap back on when he changed the oil!
I was so upset I called them and told them how they, supposedly an authorized dealer, could forget this detail? My oil, which they just replaced was spilling on the engine and the smoke was coming from it as it became burning hot. If I didn't check, the oil would have leaked all out, and my engine would have been shot.
Did they do anything to make up for it? No, a half assed attempt at an apology and they refilled the oil and wiped the engine. No consideration for my time or inconvenience. Not even a free car wash. And by the way, as I told my cousin, their service was horrible and it was more expensive than my dealer.

Al Mansoor Video is probably the largest and most trusted name in Indian movies, DVDs, music, etc. They have a great collection of Indian music in all languages from the golden years to the latest tracks that are out. They also have DVDs from yesteryear and today that are excellent. I have purchased DVDs from others who claimed that they were originals and not knock-offs. But it turned out they were horrible prints.
These carry top shelf items and guarantee that the DVDs and CDs are originals and not some cheap rip-offs. The prices are actually very good. They don't really have sales, but they give good rates and are ready to give you a discount if you buy a decent amount.
I used to go there a lot when I was studying at Northwestern and stock up on the weekends. I still stop by if there is a movie I really want to see.

AAA Travel Inc. is the absolute worst travel agency I have ever dealt with. I used them for a vacation trip for my parents and other relatives who were going to India for a marriage.
First of all, the tickets were not confirmed and they were standby, which is a detail the agent left out. So what happened? The plane is overbooked and they come home. I called and complained to the owner and she said she would sort it out. She would not give me a refund either.
I get a call two days later at about 3 PM and she says that I got the tickets confirmed for tonight's flight at 7 PM! I was shocked! How could we make it in such a short notice. She said otherwise I would have to wait a week. I mean, people have their vacations planned in advance and have taken a leave of absence at work, how can they change it because this agent screwed up?
I hurriedly called my parents and relatives and got all six of them to the airport. Once there, we are hassled by Air India saying they have no confirmation. I called the agent back and she was "busy with other things" according to the person who answered the phone.
Air India didn't bother to help us either. Finally I talked to a supervisor and got it sorted out and explained what the agent did. He told me they have had several complaints against AAA Travel, but the brass at Air India won't do anything because she sells so many tickets.
More like cons people. I got a hold of her later and she was making up excuses and lies. They had another problem when they were to return back to the U.S. because the return flight was not confirmed. Luckily, they got it done at a local agent in New Delhi.
I would not recommend anyone to risk going to this lady. Upon telling my stories to others, I found out several people in Chicago who have been duped by the conniving people at AAA Travel. They are a disgrace to the Indian community.

Freeway Travel has been in business for a while now and have really made a name for themselves. I have been a dedicated customer for all my travel needs, especially overseas to India. I have gotten the cheapest, rock-bottom price from Freeway since the early 1990s.
I think they get the lowest fares because they are authorized dealers to Air India and other lines which require at least a million dollar in sales per year for that airline in order for you to keep the dealership.
They have had specials on Kuwait Airlines where it was around $750 for a roundtrip to New Delhi and back. I have not found anyone that can match these prices.
I have seen advertisements for less, but there is always a gimmick or a catch. Not with Freeway. Give them a call and compare their price. It'll always be less otherwise they will pricematch the difference.

Atlas Galleries on the magnificent mile has a peaceful, serene touch. They have been in business for several years and have establised themselves as purveryors of fine arts, paintings, sculptures, etc.
The set up inside is amazing and the displays are set in a thought-provoking manner. I am not an expert on art, but I have visited galleries and taken some museum tours that have been informative.
This gallery, although their intent is to sell artwork, is more of a museum like atmosphere. They have the backgrounds of artists and what the message each piece is trying to convey. They try to make you in tune with what the artist was thinking when he made a sculpture or a painting.
You can always find collectors and art enthusiasts as well as tourists sifting through the large collections. It is a bit expensive and I am sure if you are going to shell out the money, you would have to know a lot about what you are buying. It isn't for those looking to hang a painting in the family room as a decoration.

If anyone knows Indian traditions, they know that the women like to get dressed up. Most of the clothes can be outrageously expensive and often times, the women will wear it just once.
Sahil Exclusive is a one of a kind fashion boutique. They carry the latest trends of Indian fashion and offer them at reasonable prices. It's probably one of the few that can boast this in the U.S. The only way to get it cheaper would be to make a trip to India and spend a few days looking around, price haggling, and that can end up being expensive in itself.
Sahil is located on Devon Avenue which is the Indian bazaar area in Chicago. I went there recently to get wedding outfits for my sister's wedding. They had some real nice outfits for all price ranges. They have the high end items as well as decent items for the money.
I would recommend you checking this out. The sales people are eager to help, which is important because a lot of times in other shops they can be uninterested or rude.

Hawk Quarters is THE place to get your Blackhawks gear. They got everything from game jerseys to replica jerseys, hockey equipment, player pictures, and other Blackhawks memorabilia.
The Blackhawks aren't as popular as they were in the 1990s because they have been losing and getting rid of their star players. Despite this, the Hawk Quarters continues to thrive.
I think most of the stuff is overpriced. I am sure if you looked, you could get the same merchandise for less at Sportmart or other sporting stores.
It is a good place to visit and window shop and mostly I see tourists there getting stuff.

Roselle Lumber is one of the oldest hardware stores in the northwest suburbs. It has a remarkable history as it was founded over 80 years ago by a group of farmers.
I remember going there in 1980s for dry wall and wood for construction. It's amazing it has survived for so long in this era of Home Depots and Lowes, and actually prior to them, all the Handy Andy's and Mr. How's.
It has carved a special place for itself and has a loyal customer base. It has a small town feel and the prices are just as good as the other chains.

Debbie Hundal is a very knowledgeable realtor with a lot of field experience. She has sold properties all over the northwest suburbs and has been very successful in her dealings.
I have dealt with her over a few deals in the last couple years and she has been extremely efficient and reliable. I have gotten great prices for sales just because she was the driving force behind the deals.
Her specialty is in all kinds of residential homes and she deals with a wide price range.
