Florida Mobility carries a wide range of mobility equipment - everything from small basics like canes and grab bars for the bathroom, on up to powerchairs, scooters, lifts and elevators - everything you could need in mobility devices and equipment is carried here.
We have dealt with their service dept on several occasions also and they have done a thorough professional job. We did have some difficulties at one time, but that was caused by one specific employee, whom was found to be conducting himself in a dishonest manner & was promptly discharged because of it. Otherwise, we have found the staff at FL Mobility to be knowledgable, professional and very helpful

Long & Scott Farms is the only farm that still grows famous Zellwood Sweet Corn. All the other farms were bought out/shut down by the St. Johns Water Mgt & the state, because of the pollution problems to Lake Apopka -- Long & Scott Farms was able to stay in business because they were a sand farm, not a muck farm like the others.
If you've never tasted genuine Zellwood Sweet Corn, you're in for a treat!! It does cost a bit more than regular corn but is well worth it. The market also carries a good variety of other produce that is grown at their farm and picked fresh daily.
Well worth the drive up to Zellwood to get farm-fresh delicious corn!

We originally visited Blodgetts upon returning to Orlando several years ago. Initially, we were impressed by the wide selection of plants, but even more so, we were impressed by the knowledgable helpful staff, who seemed like true experts about gardening.
For a variety of reasons, we did not do much gardening for a period of time, and only recently were able to garden again - we immediately thought of Blodgetts when needing plants & supplies.
Much to our dismay, this nursery is no longer the top-notch place it used to be. While there is still quite a nice selection of plants, the staff we encountered on our last 2 visits did not seem to know very much about gardening at all, and seemed as if they were simply "salesman" - pushing to sell us something as much as possible, without really knowing any significant amount about the merchandise they were selling.
Disappointing that this is no longer as high-quality a nursery as it used to be.

La Nouba is the show put on by Cirque du Soleil which is permanently housed in their custom theatre at Downtown Disney Westside.
Seeing a live Cirque du Soleil performance is an experience you will never forget! It is impossible to convey in words just how spectacular these shows are! This is NOT a "circus" in the definition that most of us think of circuses. The best way I can think of to describe this is a bit of high-class circus, a bit of Broadway, a bit of world-class gymnastics/acrobatics, a bit of unbelievable musical scoring & vocals, and a healthy bit of outright magic!! There is nothing in this world quite like Cirque du Soleil!!!
Tickets may seem a bit pricey, but believe me, this show would be worth ten times the amount!!
The show is amazing from beginning to end - I particularly liked the closing acts on the fast-tracks & trampolines, the little chinese girls with the diabolos, and the aerial ballet in silk was astounding. It really is impossible to pick a "favorite" act from this show - every act is utterly amazing!

While Sterling does have a larger and more modern ship than SunCruz does, that is the only positive thing that we can say for them.
Our first casino-cruise experience was on Sterling. We called ahead of time to ask about wheelchair accessibility, and were assured that there would be no problems whatsoever, and that IF we required any assistance, the ship's staff would be more than glad to help.
Our experience was exactly the opposite. The ship was not very accessible at all, and the one & only time we did ask for any help, the crew member was downright rude to us, telling us he did not have time to help (all we needed was help through a door that had a barrier on the bottom - it would have taken about 30 seconds of his time at most - a fellow passenger ended up assisting us - the crew member was just standing off to the side & simply stood there watching - he wasn't even doing anything)
The "elevator" that was pointed out to us for a wheelchair to get from one deck to another was a joke - I think it was some sort of dumbwaiter-type service elevator. My husband had to literally pull his legs up folded into his lap, because the door would not close if he left his legs down in a normal sitting position - the door caught on his feet!
Food was mostly awful. There were some delicious muffins & cookies, but the 'sandwiches' they offered tasted like cardboard, and other choices were bad too.
I don't understand what the problem was when we took this cruise - even while in the casino, we tried to get drinks & the waitress outright ignored us, even though she was serving the customers on either side of us!! Perhaps they assume that a person in a wheelchair MUST be a poverty-stricken welfare case, and that we were only there for "free food & drinks" - I don't know. All I do know is that we were treated rudely when they did speak to us, and ignored altogether half the time.
Nothing could convince us to ever set foot on Sterling again. We were quite hesitant to even try the cruise experience again, but did give SunCruz a shot & it was a world of difference! Maybe 'regular' people are treated well on Sterling, but we had a miserable time & were treated as if we weren't worth speaking to. SunCruz treated us courteously & pleasantly, just like any other customer.

Sun Cruz is one of two different "casino cruises" available from Port Canaveral. They have two half-day cruises, one leaves in the morning, the other in early evening. The cruise is free, although you do need to make reservations in advance.
There is a buffet meal available at a reasonable cost. We found the food to be so-so, not bad but nothing great either. There are several different casino areas on the ship - you can play the slots, or try poker, roulette, baccarat or other table games. We always stuck with the slot machines. Although we never had any luck ourselves, we did see several people win nice jackpots every time we went on the cruise!
You can go outside & sit out on the deck to simply enjoy the ocean breeze & view - this is always a favorite activity for us when we go!!! We'll spend an hour or so in the casino, then we'll be outside the rest of the time!
Wheelchair accessibility is moderately good, considering the difficulties that are unavoidable on a smaller cruise ship. The staff is always quite helpful and assists us in any way we need help with. We highly recommend Sun Cruz as the casino cruise to pick here in central FL!

My husband used Tropical's services during a period of time when he needed transportation to/from work while we were waiting approval from the local paratransit service.
He only knew his driver as "Willie", but Willie was a wonderful gentleman, who went out of his way to be as kind and helpful as could be. My husband is a paraplegic confined to a wheelchair. At that time, he was still using a manual chair. Willie would help him into the car every morning, break down & load his chair, then assist him out of the car & to his office upon arrival. He just showed so much compassion and did those little extra things that were "above and beyond the call of duty".
If Willie is an example of the type of service one can expect from all drivers at Tropical, they are the best!

Ripley's is an amazing place to visit. Be sure to spend lots of time here and examine all the amazing artifacts from all over the world. This is NOT an attraction to rush through! Their website states that the average visit lasts one to two hours -- in my opinion, you should spend more time than that if you really want to enjoy everything here!
Some of my favorite exhibits are the more 'artistic' pieces - such as the Rolls Royce constructed entirely of matchsticks, or the incredible "paintings" made from dryer lint, or the different models constructed from pennies.
But the oddball quirky exhibits are so fascinating too!
Ripley's is very reasonably priced, right now at only $16.95 for adults, and you can usually find discount coupons at their website at http://www.ripleysorlando.com
Don't pass this one up - it's a must-see!

But the restaurant is absolutely superb!!! We had lunch here, and it was a great meal. We had their buffet, and the food was far superior to most lunch buffets we have had. The atmosphere at the restaurant is great, beautiful setting, and the staff was extremely pleasant & courteous.
Be sure to sample the excellant cookies for dessert!! These cookies are to die for, they were so good, we even asked for some extras to take home with us.

Fun Spot features 4 different go-kart tracks which are great fun, especially for the kids! The four main tracks are all uniquely different - age restrictions range from 8yrs to 12yrs minimum, depending on the track. But adults can enjoy themselves here too. Tracks are elevated and the courses are quite thrilling. There are tracks for very young kids too.
They have a very large video arcade with enough games to satisfy anyone. Nice snack bar area too.
There is a great 100-ft ferris wheel ride, bumper cars and lots more to do here. There are kiddy rides for the little ones.
To see lots of photos of their gokart tracks and other features, you can visit their website at http://www.fun-spot.com
