I'm new to the area and needed to find a good, reliable, cost effective dry cleaner. I tried this one since it was close and since the rates/turnaround time seemed fair. At first I liked the friendliness of most of the employees and had almost no complaints with the work. I'm not sure what changed, but eventually, all of my dress shirts started coming back worse than they went in. It was apparent from the looks of the clothes that they were pressing them at too high a temperature leaving the collars and other parts of the shirts shiny. This wasn't just a slight issue because even the plastic tabs which were sewn into the collars started to become very prounounced from the outside. The final straw was when they did this to one of my favorite shirts and in addition seemed to have dripped oil or some other liquid on to it. When I confronted them about it, I was told I would have to pay to dry clean them if I didn't want them coming out looking like that. These are not no-name brand shirts and the cleaners I've taken them to in the past never had a problem getting them cleaned and pressed without burning them. I told them they were using their press/iron at too hot a temperature and that they needed to turn it down in order to resolve the issue. They claimed that was how it was supposed to be done and almost seemed to indicate there was nothing they could do about the temperature. They finally took the shirt back and dry cleaned it correctly but if I took them up on their suggestion, my dry cleaning bill would almost double on a weekly basis for a service that should've been done right at half the price. I wouldn't grade them so harshly if they offered more than taking the shirt back as a one time thing and telling me to pay more for total dry cleaning but their unwillingness to serve the customer and "know it all" attitude lost me as a customer permanently. Go elsewhere if you value the way you look.

I've been to to Zuckerello's several times over the years. One thing sticks out in my mind about them - their garlic rolls. While they probably take years off your life, they are amazing. The involved soft baked rolls with oil, garlic and parmesean cheese. I don't remember a whole lot about the entrees, but I do remember it all being good. Their service is also respectable. As far as price goes, it may be slightly expensive, but for the most part, I would say it mostly worth it.

I've been to this vet several times. The staff is very friendly for the most part and the building itself is nice. Their work also seems to be very reliable. My only complaint would be price. I'm sure that most vets are the same way, but it's still worth mentioning. Sometimes it seems that just because it's for a dog, the price is 4 times as much. For instance, if they perscribe a shampoo for your dog, it may easily cost you $20 a bottle while it probably has the same ingredients as something you could get at your local supermarket. Lately, it seems that everytime I take the dog there, it's a $300+ bill and of course they want to do even more tests which would cost who knows what.

I recently went to Sushi Jazz for lunch about a month ago. While the food was better than average, it still didn't seem quite worth the price. We had a group of about 10, but for some reason that seemed just a bit too confusing for the waitress. When the food arrived, it seemed like she didn't know what came with what or what things were. The price was pretty close to $10 before tax, tip and drink which in my books is somewhat expensive for lunch. As a positive though, I will say that the food seemed very authentic and had a good flavor. The portions were a bit skimpy compared to most of the other places I've gone to lunch at.

South Florida has many things to offer, but the Jungle Queen Riverboat is not anywhere near the top of that list. The cruise has been around for 60 years and probably just ought to retire. Even as a child seeing the Jungle Queen was pretty unexciting. Now they offer dinner cruises which I suppose could be more fun but I can't really comment. Even the premise of a boat to explore the Jungle is laughable. That'd be similar to going to Boston for a settler's wagon tour. This Miami/Ft. Lauderdale - we don't have jungle anymore - just beaches, roads and condos. Their website looks like it was made back when they did their first tour as well which in my opinion doesn't look good for a company.

Metrozoo is probably the best zoo in South Florida or maybe even the only one for that matter. There are a wide variety of animals to see from bears to alligators. The park also has (or at least used to have) a raised tram which circled the zoo while at the same time allowing you to look down and see the animals. Overall, the zoo is pretty fun and is worth a visit if you or your child is into animals. I'm not sure about cost, but it could be fairly costly to go. Unfortunately, the zoo has had several problems over the years with hurricaines and other events which may mean it isn't in the best codition or perhaps might be lacking in exhibits as a result.

I'm not sure what Miami Seaquarium is charging for admission, but if it's any more than $20, then I would say skip it. Seeing all the animals and exhibits is interesting and the ones where you can actually interact with them are the best. They used to have a tank of dolphins you could feed and pet. Depending on the price, this may or not be worth it for some. If you're a fan of ocean animals then this might be exciting, but other than that, you may not find it so. Also, prices within the park are fairly expensive from what I recall. One also has to question how humanely the animals are treated there.

I went on an everglades tour years ago and absolutely loved it. On ours, we sailed through the everglades until we got to this island where they have alligator wrestling, souvenirs and more. While going to and from the island, they make stops here and there to point out wildlife and to get you close encounters with gators, snakes, etc. You're almost guaranteed to see something wild on the airboat just because it is so common. If you've lived in S. Florida for years of if you're visiting, this is something you must do!

If you're between the ages of 2 and 8 or if you have kids between those ages, it may be worthwhile to go to Weeki Wachee. If not, you're probably in for one boring day. I don't remember much about the place since it has been several years since I've been, but I do remember some lame underwater mermaid show which would even make Barney cry. Rather than put yourself or kids through this, I would recommend doing something more outdoors-like. I think some of the best fun can be had camping, fishing, hiking etc as a kid as opposed to haviing mindless dribble spewed out to you without any sort of educational or practical application.

I can't say I was too impressed with Florida State University. Everything seemed like a constant battle. Classes didn't have enough seats, parking was horrendous, professors were less than average, and the school seemed obsessed with milking the students for every dime. Now I realize that "all universities have these problems" but that's no excuse not to acknowledge them. In addition to the above, the campus is located in a questionable area of town and the city itself just not happening. Even worse, FSU has consistently earned a reputation as a party school and has a student body composed of several whose IQ's fall below their shoe size and you have to ask, "how did they get to college?". I see no point in going away to college just so you can binge drink and learn how to skirt your education. I'm far from the best student, but too much of something is definitely a bad thing. On the other hand, there are some excellent professors at FSU and some very gifted individuals in general. Living in the dorms and being apart of activities is an excellent way to meet alot of great people.
