Dojo is what you call a cool hip restuarant. And what's best is that it's for everyone! There are some very delicious veggie dishes, but the meat lover will be deeply satisfied! The prices are relatively low to the other places in the area. They serve breakfast until 5pm. I had dish that included two eggs, steak, fries (the potato shaped kind), and bread for 4.95. I was full and satisfied. I really liked those eggs (sunny-side-up. They don't call them eggs benedict)
Service can be smashing! (Depending which waiter you get during what shift) I recommend early afternoons (but I forget which day... i'll check it out). This Dojo is situated at a great spot! The one by St Marks is great too... but sorta sketchy.
edit: I think the you may get a smashing waitress if you're seated by the windows.

It's sort of the place you want to unwind in. I wouldn't say the coffee there is anything too special; I would say people appreciate the place itself. And of course the service, which is great and upbeat. Cool lamps. Lots of scrabble board games.

And the younger harry.. Harry Potter 4/ Joe is so endearing with this little nagging tone in his voice. Harry Potter 7/Paul is a great performer and is well coordinated when he jumps into the crowd to stand on the "muggle seats". If you hear their recording (and you can do so on their myspace) they sound a bit off, both with the lyrics and the singing.. but if you see them in person.. really, it's wild. They've got so much energy, it's really contagious. "STICK IT TO THE MAN" (voldemort. in the world of the potter bands... voldie is referred to as "the man").

Dee& Dee is a great place when you really want something... that perhaps you don't really need... for a cheap price. I bought most of my college "little things" like totes, over-the-door hangers, clock, towels, etc. all here for a much lower price than i would have gotten elsewhere. There are skirts for 7 dollars, Shirts for 3. Not all of the clothing is of great quality, but sometimes you'll have great finds. And a HUGE variety of slippers.

This place really comes in handy for the neighborhood. There are not as much little grocery stores or deli's in the area. This place serves as meat/fish market as well as a supermarket. But everytime I go, there's something off for me.. maybe because it's a bit on the dirty side, or the space isn't set up well. Something about it doesn't make me want to linger and shop like some other markets. Well stocked though. (Path Mart is up two or three long blocks but it's generally less expensive here and there's a whole lot of chinese items.)

There's practically no one there unless it's a movie that came out in the past three days. Why would you want to cram yourself next to people you don't know while watching a movie, rather than talking at whatever level you like because no one is in your proximity? The staff pretty much leaves you alone and doesn't do rounds much. Less disturbances during movies...
It can be quite cold though because there's not enough body heat in the room, just bring a coat. And sometimes, well, just recently, there's this weird vibration under the floors, but that's just because the level below the theaters is renovating.
It's like bringing the big screen home. Put your feet up and talk and laugh as loud as you want.

It is truely a supermarket though it looks a bit small. And there are are awesome weekly discounts that are totally worth it.
